Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney Predicted Ukraine's Invasion Years Ago

When Sarah Palin became the surprising vice presidential choice for the Republican ticket in 2008, a lot of people thought she was kind of loony. When Palin said she could see Russia from her house and couldn't name a single newspaper in a Katie Couric interview, some people were quick to write her and her opinions off.

So when she made a few remarks about the Russia-Ukraine situation in the fall of 2008, a lot of people ignored her. Specifically she said, "After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next."

At the time, Foreign Policy called the comments "strange," saying "this is an extremely far-fetched scenario," and then-editor Blake Hounshell wrote in response: "And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraine's pro-Western government without firing a shot, I don't see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel."

Of course, the situation in Ukraine is still developing, but Palin's thoughts don't seem as far-fetched now.

But Palin isn't the only one to have prophetic thoughts about possible Russian-Ukraine conflict. Several people have taken to twitter to point out that during the 2012 presidential debates, Republican candidate Mitt Romney wasn't as wrong as a lot of people said when he said that Russia was "without question our number one geopolitical foe."(continued)

Reading closely reveals that
Romney-the-Liar did not predict it, but claims it anyway.

What else would one expect of the IMPOSER
of both Gay-Marriage and RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE,
who then claimed “he did not do either”.

“When Palin said she could see Russia from her house”

Palin never said that. I stopped reading there.

“When Palin said she could see Russia from her house ...”

-

Palin never said that.

It was a leftist smear, and evidently it’s being redeployed.

That was whatshername.

Palin did not say that. She never said that.

Ever.

"When Palin said she could see Russia from her house

Except she never made that statement.

It is a Tina Fey line from a Saturday Night Live skit.

Everyone to the right of Nancy Pelosi knows that.

Can't take the scribbler of this article too seriously if he thinks Sarah made the statement.

Even SNOPES rates the quote FALSE.

Sarah Palin never said she could see Russia from her house. She pointed out that Alaska shared a border with Russia and that you could see Russia from part of the Alaskan border.

Sarah Palin was not unable to “name a single newspaper”. When Katie Couric insultingly asked her what newspapers do you read Sarah rightfully and intelligently changed the subject and refused to answer the condescending question.

After starting out with these untruths the author shows Sarah predicted in 2008 that Russia(and most countries in the world) would not take Obama seriously. Shortly after her prediction Putin gained control of the Ukrainian government and outmaneuvered Obama to bacome more influential in the middle east and Asia. Now with the current crisis in the Ukraine Obama seems more confused and weak than ever.

He cited Russia as the biggest threat we had and didn't elaborate. You sure let Romney occupy a large space in your head - why go through the daily torment? It's not like you're actually causing him any consternation.
