FL-13 Congressional District is seen as an indicator oof the midterm elections. "Both parties are focused on the ObamaCare issue." said Susan McManus, a political science professor. "Does it push (David) Jolly, the Republican across the finish line? Or does it help (Democratic Alex) Sink win?" The election on March 11, fills the seat held 43 years by Republican Bill Young.
At Frida's café in Largo, some early voters voiced fierce opposition to ObamaCare.
"I had Blue Cross, Blue Shield," small business owner Roy Badie said. "When ObamaCare kicked in, I couldn't afford it. I lose coverage on my children. So now I am paying out of my own pocket." Badie cast an early ballot for Jolly.
Sarah Paul, is on the fence about who to vote for. A Republican, she's a fan of ObamaCare and recently signed herself and her husband up. "We haven't had insurance for 28 years. We couldn't afford it."
Sink -- a Democrat -- actually carried FL-13 in her failed bid for governor in 2010. Jolly is hoping his push to repeal ObamaCare will win over voters. Unlike other Democrats, Sink isn't running away from ObamaCare. She's embracing it -- while at the same time, keeping it at arm's length.
This election is unusually important because it's a test in messaging for the fights ahead. "Pure and simple: "What message can the other candidates and other states take on the road to win?"
And Republican groups and conservative blogs are pounding Sink over comments she made about immigration reform at a candidates' forum earlier this week. Sink insisted immigration reform is important to Florida's vast tourism industry, saying: "Where are you going to get people to work to clean our hotel rooms or do our landscaping?"
Jolly declared Sink's comments "offensive" and demanded she apologize.

That’s a little scary.
Obamacare is a lightning rod issue, but remember there are a lot of folks in the entitlement army too.
What is the demographic of this district? Are the Dems funding a libertarian to bleed R votes and win with a Clintonian plurality?
“She’s embracing it — while at the same time, keeping it at arm’s length.”
er, ok, if you say so.

She has some F’d up DNA.

Remember, every single special election is supposed to be microcosm of the larger electorate. it may, or may not be, but the LSM sure didn’t mention the a$$ whooping a week ago in VA, but if a RAT squeaks across the finish line it will be heralded from here to the mid-terms. It’s all OPTICS and NARRATIVE posturing.
No no no no. Just stop it. Special elections are MEANINGLESS.
And last poll I saw had the Dim up by 6. MEANINGLESS.
Unfortunately for the left, not enough of the entitlement army is deficient in math enough to not notice that the deductibles are so high they are unlikely to meet them.
That is why nothing they have done and nothing they will come up with will get enrollment going for people without preexisting conditions.
This was designed to fail, of course - so they could try to implement a single payer system. But it was supposed to fail gradually while they screamed about how other political constituencies were destroying their beautiful program. Instead it is stillborn while they are still holding the bag.
Personally I don’t think anybody wants single payer.
Insurance companies are a huge source of campaign money.
Politicians beat them up in public and take “protection money” thru the back door.
See my Post #6 RIghtwardHo
Sink is a radical leftist.
Planned Parenthood has given her their Choice Award. She is backed by Rosa DeLauros (D-CT) radical EMILYs List group pushing for abortion on demand and so called partial birth abortion... at taxpayer’s expense.
She supports adoption by homosexuals.
She supports Obamacare.
Sink is the stink that wont go away.
Wow! I did not know all of that about her. Do you live in FL? What do we have to do to get this word out? I still believe what I said in Post #6. I believe that gaffe alone will sink, MS Sink.
The good news for our team is: This is a Special Election. Voter turn out will be LOW. But, the informed, “crawl over glass” Conservatives WILL turn out enmasse. I think that, and what I said in my Post #6, will sink MS Sink in this Election.
How many of you knew about this Election. I didn’t until today and I am a Political Junkie. Are any Conservative PACs helping Jolly in his race against this Radical Leftist witch? (See Post #13 by Ray76.)
Excellent! Go get ‘em.
On the contrary.
Pay attention to what is being done with the IRS.
Apply that to availability of medical care.
Go back and look at how communist countries from the Soviet Union to Cuba have used availability of food and medical care as a lethal weapon against political rivals and reconsider your assertion.
