In the days since Vladimir Putin sent Russian troops into the Crimea, it has been amateur hour back in Washington.
I dont mean Barack Obama. Hes doing pretty much everything he can, with what are a very limited set of policy options at his disposal. No, Im talking about the people who wont stop weighing in on Obamas lack of action in the Ukraine. Indeed, the sea of foreign policy punditry already shark-infested has reached new lows in fear-mongering, exaggerated doom-saying and a stunning inability to place global events in any rational historical context.
This would be a useful moment for Americans to have informed reporters, scholars and leaders explaining a crisis rapidly unfolding half a world away. Instead, weve already got all the usual suspect arguments:

Obama is looking like an idiot right now, so the sycophants are feeling butt-hurt, and are already starting the "WHAT DOES IT MATTER!!!" bs to bail Obama out.
(Oh... If you think this really does matter, you must be a racist that hates the idea of a black president!)
obozo’s sure as hell losing if he doesn’t want Russia in Ukraine.
Bush II stopped Putin in his tracks from invading Georgia and without firing a shot.
Obama as a leader of the free world is a joke.
Obama’s weakness emboldened Putin. Lie your way out of that, Guardian.
Well, Obama really wanted Russia to take over Crimea and possibly all of Ukraine all along. He cleverly pretended to want the opposite, and Putin fell right into his trap. Genius I tell you... total genius.
Delusional, amazingly delusional.
The British commies are circling Obama’s wagons quicker than his own sycophants here!
They are working on it as we type.
He’s Obama’s something-or-other boy - of that I have no doubt.
I really can’t say he’s totally wrong, as far as the Crimea is concerned.
In and of itself, the Crimea isn’t really worth taking action....It’s more about what Putin would do next.
Kind of like the Nazis marching into the Saar and Rhineland.......At the time, most felt the Germans were just taking back what was rightfully theirs’, and it wasn’t a big deal.
Of course that led Hitler to ‘up the ante’, then you got Austria, the Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia, then Poland........

They why is he trying to talk tough and make threats when both he and Putin know there's nothing he will do about it?
“Don’t be fooled by that incompetence you see. It’s on purpose.”
this guy has Kool-aide on his knee pads.
So last week while Putin was rolling the tanks, Obama was pitching minimum wage, Kerry was saying climate change is our greatest security threat, and Hagel was dismantling the Army.
The 3 Stooges are running American foreign policy.
I will stipulate that Obama can do nothing to stop Putin at this point.
But the fact that he can do nothing to stop Putin is entirely his own fault.
Words MATTER. Actions MATTER. From the time a president takes office, everything he does and says contributes to his reputation on the world stage - and reputation MATTERS.
On the world stage, Mr. Barack Hussein Obama has built himself a reputation as a weak, ignorant, foolish, ineffectual, know-it-all little brat.
Mr. Obama (and unfortunately the rest of the United States) is currently reaping in accord with the reputation he has sown; and his pea-brained, sycophantic, hopey-o-change-a-lot apologists in the media are coming unglued as it becomes more and more apparent exactly how much damage he has done to our country, and to the world.
“he’s not ‘losing’ and it’s not his fight”
?????
This is what happens when newspeak divides by Zero.
The Sudetenland was never part of Germany. It was part of Austria-Hungary and Czechoslovakia.
The Crimea has been Russian (and still is, demographically) since around 1783.
