Whatever this Russian version of an "overseas contingency operation" is called, it was foreseen as the inevitable consequence of electing a president who believed America was the last colonial power and whose withdrawal from the world stage would get rid of a major distraction to his fundamental transformation of America.

When you crow, what accent do you have?
Some of what you say could apply to almost every female politican or public speaker. Women need to avoid sounding shrill (that’s just a fact) when giving speeches. They can, and probably should learn to speak in a lower register.
However, Sarah has no “nasal screech impediment” — nor does she have a speech impediment. She does have a regional accent — an accent that sounds perfectly fine to me, as someone who lived next door to Alaska for decades, and spent a fair amount of time there.
Sarah’s speaking patterns have become part of her brand — you betcha!

Palin is a leader of ideas. Case in point: the Snowden case. As soon as it started, while everyone here and elsewhere focused on Snowden, hero or traitor, it was Palin who alone pointed out that this case is not about Snowden as about the government snooping on citizens and non-citizens as well. What this article and thread are about again is ideas, not personalities.
