Discussion Thread: Texas Primary Today (3-4-14) ..first hand reports, observations, comments..
one man's opinion...

Posted on 03/04/2014 7:00:48 AM PST by ken5050

I was hoping one of the Texas FReepers would start a thread, but didn't see one. The Texas primary is today..several interesting races, but the BIG ONE involves Cornyn. When you vote...let us know what you heard/saw? What's the weather like down there?

At least Texas will be a better place without Dewhurst setting the legislative agenda.

I saw a 7% against repealing zerocare, which is a sure sign of rat crossover votes, so take that percent out of Cornyn’s column, and he knows that only really got 52%. Not a mandate.

Especially considering the money Cornyn spent vs what the challengers spent.

There’s a lot of NE and SW TX Stovall country that hasn’t fully reported yet. We may wake up to even a narrower win.

It’s not illegal to be slow in reporting results in order to fend off newly ‘found’ ballots, especially in the rural areas.

Same thing occured to me. This also happened with concealed carry, public prayer, welfare drug testing and franchise tax. What kind of conservative votes against those initiatives? I smell rats.

The GOPe and RATS are aligned against TEA.

They know their ill-gotten wins are transient and will fail as we refine our GOTV. These races will be instructive for the rest of the nation... what to watch out for and counter-vene.

In my County, Cornyn got 67%, IIRC of the vote, but going by the no's on Obamacare and Welfare Reform, and Franchise Tax, I am guessing there was a 5.2 to 7.3% rat crossover. I know Dem's who told me they had voted early, or were going to vote today in the Republican Primary here.

Exit polls from the 2012 Presidential election showed that 6% of registered Republicans voted for Obama and 7% of registered Democrats voted for Romney. There will always be the pro-choice RINOs and the “Reagan Democrat” conservative DINOs.
Congressional job approval currently averages 13 percent, the lowest in nearly four decades. And yet, 90 percent of House Members and 91 percent of Senators who sought re-election won in November, 2012.
Americans tend to hate the institution of Congress but they like their individual senators and representatives.

Greg Abbott bested Wendy Davis by an massive 850,000 vote margin. Democrat Hispanics voted againt her in the Democrat primary across the state. Ms. Davis is Toast, big time , come November, 2014. Abbott will beat her by at least a 1.5 million vote margin!!! Texas is red....and staying that way through the mid-term elections this year!!! And.....I believe the rest of the country will generally do the same!!!

Stockman conceded months ago.

I fear Stockman was a plant to divide conservative votes.

“Cornyn will win in a landslide.” "You were right."

REALLY!?! A sitting Senator, #2 in the GOPe Senate hierarchy, getting less than 60% in a primary against TOO MANY challengers...REALLY, A LANDSLIDE!?!

He’d been saying all along that Cornyn would win. That was his post yesterday. I wanted to tell him that he was right. I expected a closer margin.

He,he,he. Looks like we haven’t heard the end of Kesha Rogers. Pure joy that she is a thorn in the side of the Democrats!

Not quite a landslide, indeed.

Look at the millions McCornball had to spend just to get that 59%. Not to mention the fact that we/he had no well known, well funded, well organized candidate to go up against him.
