I remember him going on and on about how good the TV Show "24" was. So I started watching the show on Netflix being I never did when it was on TV.
I was astonished how bad the writing in the show was in Season 1 and I made it as far as the Kim Bauer Cougar Encounter in Season 2 before I just couldn't watch anymore.
Maybe Rush was talking about later seasons but my goodness I am astonished anyone with an IQ above 70 would claim the first two seasons of 24 were anything but mediocre TV and in some episodes it was downright stupid!
Anywho...regardless of who he looks like, or whose kid he is...he's a stinkin' lib. That's all I need to know ;)
You know what, the Academy can’t be that stupid. They probably give it a pass knowing the blow back would be ginormous.
I haven’t seen it. It may be a great movie. I’m just so sick of the slavery thing. I’m sorry it happened. It’s 2014. Can we ever move on...
Ronan was born in 1987... Frank Sinatra died in 1998... Sinatra was doing the Together Again tour with Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin in 1988... his wife could not have been keeping him under lock and key at that time...
You’re right, Ronan looks like the spitting image of his maternal grandfather, John. His mouth, his eyes, even his hair. But shouldn’t we see even a small glimpse of Allen in his features if Ronan is his son?
it is a very good movie... i saw all the nominated movies... my friend and i make it a point to do this every year once we know which ones are nominated... it is something we've done for a long time... we both were hoping for American Hustle, but that movie was shut out completely...
i have a difficult time watching movies about slavery... the last one i had seen was Django Unchained... and again, i only saw it because it had been nominated... my favorite overall of all the nominated movies for 2013 was Philomena with Judy Dench... i love that lady!
it’s used to reinforce white guilt, so the crutch that is slavery will always be used.
Blacks don’t own slavery, every race on the planet has been a slave to someone else at one point in time. Everybody else has “moved on” except one.....and we know which one that is
I like Dench also. I have enjoyed her being “M” in the James Bond movies. She had a nice role in Riddick as well. Most folks will think of her more serious rolls, and rightfully so. She really fades into the part.
And a few years ago it was “homo”. Remember how everyone was already saying “MILK” would win even though it had not been released at that time? What was the winning buzz word? Homosexual Harvey Milk.
So, in the next few years we will see a winnah for a movie based on a homo black man who is kept a slave by some evil hethro couple.
Ronan Farrow is a very handsome liberal man, but Rachel Maddow is an ugly liberal man....
Not necessarily. Also, people change over the years. A kid of 25 can look like his mother and by the time he is middle-aged, he looks like his father.
I looked like my father as a kid, now I favor my mother’s side. Of course, both Allen & Farrow could solve this tomorrow with a test. What a thing to do to a kid!
Have you seen the show? He takes a nice photo but on tv there’s something creepy about him - around the eyes, in particular. Also, his flailing, fey hands don’t help! And that voice!
Thank you also for the mention of the movie, and how much you liked it. I appreciate it.
Well, to be frank, I have a witness to all this. An old friend of mine, now deceased. He was a good friend of Frank’s and in the last ten years, he couldn’t get backstage to see Sinatra - much less on the phone. Just because he toured with his show (and Frank was a serious professional) doesn’t mean he wasn’t being minded by Barbara.
Ronan Farrow looks very much like his mother. Since I’ve seen her best movies - many times, in fact - I see the resemblance clearly when I have watched his show. The smile and teeth are a dead giveaway.
Look at Frank’s real kids and you will see how far Ronan Farrow is from that family. Actually, he may have been created from a test tube...
When Woody Allen sues Mia for back payment, I’ll start buying into this urban myth...
Was she in Pittsburgh because of her husband? I assume he was heading up the orchestra there?
I have two friends who visit her in CT all the time. I must say, they love her and are very protective of her. Me? I had to unfriend her on FB because of her wacky political views!!!
P.S.: Love your sense of humor.
He's now Woody Allen's Father-in-law.
I thought he just had his cnn show canned?
I've always wondered about In the Heat of the Night winning best picture for 1967. The award show was canceled and moved back a couple of days because Martin Luther King's assassination occurred on the day the show was originally scheduled. So, they have the show two days later, and the best picture turns out to be the race-relations themed movie In the Heat of the Night? I think it's a pretty good movie, but it just doesn't strike me as "best picture" material. I wonder if the Academy did some sort of do-over for best picture to "make a statement" in the wake of MLK's murder?
