Obama’s Journey from Arrogance to Incompetence
Commentary ^ | 3/4/2014 | Peter Wehner

...When he ran for the presidency, it was Barack Obama who never put limits on his criticisms of others. He spoke as if the problems of the world would disappear with two events: the removal from office of his predecessor and his arrival as president of the United States. Even in a profession not known for attracting modest individuals, Mr. Obama’s arrogance set him apart.

In 2008 his campaign aides referred to him as the “black Jesus.” He told congressional Democrats during the 2008 campaign, “I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions.” During that campaign, while still a one-term senator, Obama decided he wanted to give a speech in Germany – and he wanted to deliver it at the Brandenburg Gate.

“I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” Mr. Obama told Patrick Gaspard, his political director, at the start of the 2008 campaign, according to The New Yorker. “I know more about policies...than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now...I’m a better political director than my political director.” A convention speech wasn’t enough for Mr. Obama; Greek columns needed to be added. During an interview with “60 Minutes,” Obama said, “I would put our legislative and foreign policy accomplishments in our first two years against any president — with the possible exceptions of Johnson, FDR, and Lincoln.” (The use of the word “possible” is priceless.) Mr. Obama has compared himself to LeBron James; his aides compared him to Michael Jordan. He clearly conceived of himself as a world-historical figure. Nothing, it seemed, was beyond his power.

"Having been president for more than five years, we can now render some reasonable and informed judgments about Mr. Obama, including this one: he is an amateur on par with Jimmy Carter."

As takedowns go, this is a pretty good one.

“Black Jesus”? I think not.
“Black Jackass”? That’s right on.

What can be seen,
If but we look,
Arrogance is the defense,
To hide his Incompetence.

Proper title would be “Obama’s Journey: Arrogance and Incompetence”

His trip from arrogance to incompetence is a recurring round trip.

Yes, but he was always incompetent and I don’t see that he’s left the arrogance behind. It’s just that a few more people are beginning to acknowledge the incompetence.

This has been so glaring that even his devotees have to give a little nod to it, even if they try to apologize for him, which they usually do by saying, “Yes, but if those evil Republicans would just let Obama be Obama, everything would be wonderful.”

I was stuck on a long van trip at a conference with a whole bunch of libs, and while they harped on the “eeeevil Republicans” line (you may not think the GOP does much, but libs blame the GOP for everything), I definitely sensed some desperation there. Of course, they’re just disappointed that he hasn’t quite finished making the US into Albania under Ceaucescu.

He did manage to win the nobel peace prize for pigment. There’s an accomplishment to rest one’s laurels on.

It’s hard to say what is more salient about his personality; his arrogance or his incompetence. He has both in more abundance than anyone should have.

The problem is a fawning communist media/entertainment propaganda complex. One session of real tough questions in front of the media where they openly started laughing at him on the public stage would have destroyed him. Instead of tearing him apart for both traits of arrogance and incompetence, and then laughing at him, they fed the arrogance while covering over the incompetence.

This is very dangerous for the Republic.

All Obama is really good at is bluster and blame....

Blustering and blaming his way through everything is the road to disaster. It amounts to a profound lack of any sensible policy.

He needs to be removed from office or we may not even survive three more years of this horrid cretin.

No surprise here really, a Junior Senator that took his job not so seriously! He had no qualifications for President when he was elected and his OJT has resulted in nothing more than a golf score. All he ever knew was how to spend others money and that has continued!

“Obama’s Journey from Arrogance to Incompetence”

It was a short trip.

Obama is still the most arrogant person on the planet and he always was incompetent.

When he ran for office he didn’t have failures on his record because he had never held a real job and his records have been expunged.
