From Twitter account of Michael Izzo, a reporter from New Jersey's Daily Record:

All requests by plaintiff for emergent relief at this point are denied.— Michael Izzo DR (@MIzzoDR) March 4, 2014

Judge said it's a public policy issue: "what type if precedent are we setting" if kids thumb nose at parents then expect money?— Michael Izzo DR (@MIzzoDR) March 4, 2014

@axcrunner09 the case will follow. This was a hearing to see if it needed to be rushed. Which the judge ruled it did not.— Michael Izzo DR (@MIzzoDR) March 4, 2014

Today's follow up to this case: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3129285/posts

An 18 year old high school senior moved out of her parent's house. She claims her parent's kicked her out, the parents state she left voluntarily because she didn't want to follow her parent's rules. She is suing for financial support, private high school tuition, college tuition, and attorney's fees.

A court hearing was held today. A report for the New Jersey Daily Record tweeted that the judge denied immediate financial relief for the plaintiff (the adult child) at this time. Another hearing is scheduled in April.

I am glad the judge showed some sense in this case.

Probably appeal it and win. I’d cut her out of the will too. Ungrateful little b word.

Only temporarily.

Usually the case isn't over until the side most conducive to liberalism wins.

Next, I would expect the student to announce that she is going to fight this all the way to the Supreme Court. Legal fees to be paid by a consortium of colleges and universities.

Glad to see that this judge had to good sense to back the play of the parents.

I have a son that I had to do the same thing with. It hurt us like hell to exercise some “tough love” but it has to be done from time to time.

Remember folks for this case to get to court A LAWYER HAD TO TAKE IT!

Lawyers: "A bunch of mindless jerks who'll be first against the wall when the revolution comes."

(with apologies to Doug Adams...)

I would not want her sleeping under the same roof with my wife and other children. I think that girl is the classic personality type to hire some low life who will ‘put the hurt on people she doesn’t like anymore’. I would not trust someone who could write a letter like that to her mother. Very hateful. The girl needs a new doctor and a new place to live. That friend’s father who is paying for her lawyer needs to be double sued for interferring, for aiding and abetting ‘ugly’ destructive behavoir. What is wrong with him for supporting her hostility? There must be a story or grudge behind that too. His time will come, when the girl starts accusing Mr. Nosy of feeling her up.

If these parents have to hand money over to an independent adult child, then Obama has to cut a few cheque to his poor relatives. It’s only fair, and I just know Obama thinks everything should be fair.

Luckily, this case is in New Jersey, and the 9th circus court is in California, so they won't have a chance to intervene in this one.

Yep. I made a joke about paying her tuition. But, seriously, I wouldn’t allow ANY 18 year old in my house. Especially one who is suing her parents because she doesn’t like the rules.

A few years ago my wife’s 24 year old daughter hit a rough patch and moved in with us. It took about a month for her to storm out as she screamed “Nobody tells me what to do”. Haven’t seen her in a while.

Indeed it does brother.

I never had to kick any kids out (yet) but they never doubted that I would.

We have 4 adult children ages 39 through 45 and now two mninor children that we adopted. I've lived long enough to see my adult children go through the same problems we faced raising them. I don't get any satisfaction because of it but they have learned that parenting is not always easy.

Haven’t seen her in a while.

I'm guessing things are going just swimmingly for her.

And the lawyer who took it just happens to be the father of the girl’s friend, whose family she has been living with since she left home. This slimeball has already run up what he claims are $12,000 in fees that he wants her parents to pay.

So she wanted it all. She wanted to ‘do her own thing’, but wanted her parents to continue to foot her bills. Typical selfish teenager.

This girl didn’t just wake up one day a spoiled brat. Her parents probably had a lot to do with it. This case is the supreme irony.
