Dennis Kucinich Blames US Meddling for Russian Invasion

Russia's invasion of Ukraine was spurred by American behind-the-scenes actions, says former Ohio Congressman and Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly on Tuesday accused Kucinich of being a pacifist because of his opposition to the Iraq War, but Kucinich countered he believed that war was wrong, but not all U.S. military action is so.

O'Reilly then asked how Kucinich would have handled the Ukraine crisis had he been elected president.

"What I'd do is not have USAID and the National Endowment for Democracy working with U.S. taxpayers' money to knock off an elected government in Ukraine, which is what they did," Kucinich answered. "I wouldn't try to force the people of Ukraine into a deal with NATO against their interest or into a deal with the European Union, which is against their economic interest."

"So it's the USA's fault that Putin rolled in? We made them do it?" O'Reilly asked.

"Bill O'Reilly, if you don't believe in cause and effect I don't know what I can do for you," Kucinich responded.

Kucinich said the United States has been involved covertly and behind the scenes with the CIA and two government foreign aid groups, the National Endowment for Democracy and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to "stir up trouble in Ukraine."

He didn't specify what the groups had done, but said the National Endowment for Democracy had sponsored 65 programs. He said the United States should stay out of Ukraine's affairs and let their people decide their future without outside interference.

As a result, "you've got neo-Nazis that are in control," Kucinich said.

Haven’t heard from him in a while ... guess he got a new tin foil hat, so he is back.

I would appear it’s Putin’s hand up Kuchi’s butt
not Obama or maybe it’s some kind of circular
puppet thing.

I’ve often said that Ronpaul had gone so far to the Right, he was going to eventually met up with Kucinich going to his Left

guess he got a new tin foil hat with a propeller, so he is back.

Since he has no job skills and since no one will hire him, he has to open his wee little mouth every so often and remind us that he exists.

he isn’t totally wrong. the west , including europe and the US, tried to peel Ukraine from the Russian orbit with incentives. Putin said no. thats pretty much where it stands.

I saw the O'Reilly-Kucinich discussion, and like you, I think Kucinich made the better argument.

Here's the way I see it. The Soviet Union meddled in America's back yard (Cuba), so Kennedy took action.

Now it's America that's meddling in Russia's back yard, so Putin took action. The question now becomes this. Is Putin acting to defend Russia, or to expand Russia? I think (and hope0 it's the former, but time will tell.

He didn't specify what the groups had done...

Yes, and that's a problem. What we know about is EU activity, not CIA or any NGO. Not that I'd put it past them, but if Dennis knows anything he's going to have to say it, not hint.

I thought he was going out to Washington state to become a senator or something? I wish he would, Ohio could do without him ... for sure. Between him and Boehner, we have reason to be embarrassed here in OH about our political representation.

He DID go out to Washington and they turned their nose up at the worthless unemployable non-skilled jackass. I hope he stays the hell out of Ohio.

Kucinich is an Honored Elder in the Blame America First Club. If an asteroid struck Mars, he would blame America for it.

If he’d said “incompetence” he’d have been right.

Wow, two idiots’ conversation preserved for posterity. What a media.

The Soviet missiles that were put in Cuba were a direct threat to the United States. What threat is there against Russia in Ukraine?

Well, you’ll fit in nicely with the rest of the blame-America-first crowd here. Kucinich/Paul 2016 - Let’s give the world away.

I’ll agree with you that Kennedy tried to invade Cuba, in a fashion. But the US did not occupy Cuba. The Russians pay more attention to the “occupy” thing.

USAID and NED were funding Ukrainian "pro-democracy" organizations such as New Citizen, Centre UA, and Chesno, which were specifically targeting the Party of Regions MPs in their local districts by making accusations of corruption and other types of malfeasance.

Similar tactics were used by the Democrats against Scott Walker in Wisconsin.

The US State Dept. admits spending roughly $5 Billion on this type of direct meddling in Ukraine's internal affairs.

The CIA's involvement is murkier and may involve setting up camps in Poland and Lithuania for the purpose of vetting and training some of the protesters involved in the Maidan movement.
