Russia's invasion of Ukraine was spurred by American behind-the-scenes actions, says former Ohio Congressman and Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.
Fox News host Bill O'Reilly on Tuesday accused Kucinich of being a pacifist because of his opposition to the Iraq War, but Kucinich countered he believed that war was wrong, but not all U.S. military action is so.
O'Reilly then asked how Kucinich would have handled the Ukraine crisis had he been elected president.
"What I'd do is not have USAID and the National Endowment for Democracy working with U.S. taxpayers' money to knock off an elected government in Ukraine, which is what they did," Kucinich answered. "I wouldn't try to force the people of Ukraine into a deal with NATO against their interest or into a deal with the European Union, which is against their economic interest."
"So it's the USA's fault that Putin rolled in? We made them do it?" O'Reilly asked.
"Bill O'Reilly, if you don't believe in cause and effect I don't know what I can do for you," Kucinich responded.
Kucinich said the United States has been involved covertly and behind the scenes with the CIA and two government foreign aid groups, the National Endowment for Democracy and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to "stir up trouble in Ukraine."
He didn't specify what the groups had done, but said the National Endowment for Democracy had sponsored 65 programs. He said the United States should stay out of Ukraine's affairs and let their people decide their future without outside interference.
As a result, "you've got neo-Nazis that are in control," Kucinich said.

This in Ukraine was another screw up Obama style like the screw up in Egypt.

That is exactly how the guy I was listening to yesterday described what has happened.
Well, who doesn’t know that supporting 65 pro-democracy and economic development agencies is morally equivalent to ...NO, morally inferior to ordering the killing of 100+ civilians, landing 20,000 unmarked troops and seizing airports, ports and public buildings? Of course it’s all America’s fault!

Psst, the Ukrainains’ rejection of Yukun-whatver(SP) was due to him reneging on an agreement to sign an EU treaty and instead signing one with Russia; jailing his political opponent, the former PM; and ordering the shootings of political protestors. But it’s our ‘meddling’ that got them worked up? Get over yourself.

He may be right. Just who or what is the US anymore?
Is there any doubt that the US is behind all of these "peaceful protests" that have toppled governments and left nothing but the destruction of civilization in their place? The only question is who stands to benefit from all of this.
Dennis Kucinich is far left, for sure. The ptb also dismiss the far right. In most ways the far left and the far right are closer to each other than they are to the muck in the middle, both parties.
Do I support Dennis Kucinich? You bet I do. When I encountered something that was an absolute need for veterans, he was on it and got it done. He was even on the phone from the floor of the HOR to me while this initiative was being passed.
And something else. Kucinich's district was dismantled with Republicans in charge of redistricting. It was split between mostly Akron and Toledo. It was a district that the 'pubs could've had when Kucinich stepped down. He was the only one who fought for jobs for Cleveland. Doesn't it tell you something that both dems and 'pubs are still in the game of destroying a decent man?
End of rant. Except for one PS: a lot of what saved Cleveland from being Newark or Detroit is stuff he put in place as mayor and in the HOR.
The ability of the “intervene in everything” to mindlessly regurgitate the talking points fed to them by the neocons is a marvel to watch.

I know there were tensions over the EU agreement and Putin trying to lure them into some Asian economic set up. But I believe we set up the current crisis. And I am not the only one.
There have been news stories about the west funding the thing.
Putin hasn't invaded anyone. You'll know it if or when he does.
Then there is the possibility and high probability that America has almost nothing to do with the developments in Ukraine.
The rule is reversion to the mean. The mean is Russian hegemony over Ukraine. Those that hold an Amerocentric view that all world events vectors have a strong American component are pretty much wrong in this instance.
Bert’s rule is that history is a process, not an event. What we see now is but two or three events in the historical process of reversion to the mean of Russian hegemony.
If this site hasn’t learned by now that the US government is not what it purports to be, then it will never learn.
