An 18-year-old senior in New Jersey is now suing her parents for immediate financial support and trying to force them to pay for her college education. Rachel Canning, the daughter of a retired Lincoln Park police chief, is living with the family of her best friend. The teen had it declared in court that she is nonemancipated and dependent on her parents financially.

Surely a retired police chief can afford to send his daughter to some college. State colleges don’t cost that much. Unless he thinks women should be kept barefoot and pregnant.
Her suit was tossed today by the judge hearing the case.
Surely that's none of your concern, or the Court's.
Thank God there's at least ONE judge with common sense left in America.
This is all part of the adolescencing of America. Pretty soon, 50-year olds will be considered kids.
The pregnant part is what he doesn't want. She is shacking up with her boyfriend. Old enough to shack up is old enough to pay for your own schooling.

So he provides for his daughter (I’m sure he bought that smartphone she used to take the selfie), but the father wants his “girl to be barefoot and pregnant” if he refuses to pay for college if she doesn’t abide by mom and dad’s house rules?
That’s asinine.
Irrelevant. The girl's over 18 and reached the age of majority. Her family is under NO LEGAL or moral obligation to pay for her self-centered selfish "me me me me me!" behavior.
Time for the young lady to grow up and take responsibility for herself.

You think it’s alright for a teen to move out to the home of her ‘best friend’ who just happens to be a male? The girl won’t obey rules at home, she’s been suspended from school twice, and she accused her parents of abusing her - a story which turned out to be untrue.
