Yeah, no one says these guys don’t lie. But part of a campaign is devising effective ads that can counter.

I know, I may not vote

True, but money to play the ads non-stop is also a factor. Best I can hope for now is that cornball at least tries to match his rhetoric.

Texas voted for yet another Bush?

Gezzz..

Blame it on all the California liberals who migrated there.

I feel like we’ve been had. The RNC seems to have implemented a new strategy in protecting their incumbents during primaries. Get a Tea Party backed candidate to run to pull just enough votes away from anyone else that might get traction, but have them purposely not try to win.

It certainly appears that way. Stockman was Cornyn's stalking horse, either by design or ineptitude.

Pro-Lifers Shut Out of CPAC Panels

“Pro-life leaders have noticed that not a single panel or specific speaker on life issues has been scheduled for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which is supposed to be the preeminent annual gathering of conservatives in America.”

All you Party boys and GOPE gang, we conservatives got your back in November. Don’t worry we support your candidates the same way you all have always supported conservatives. We will give the same effort you all have always given us...

Two real conservatives are in a runoff. Either will be an improvement over Stockman...who was a lousy congressman. l live in the district.

I voted for and will be supporting Brian Babin in the runoff. FWIW, he is the father of a Navy Seal who is married to FOX News' Jenna Lee.

41% and 36% are pretty good with no money.

Dan Patrick bashed his opponents on tuition and the border. This was also punishment of Rick Perry’s amnesty legacy. Maybe give Mitt Romney 1% of credit for starting the Rick Perry and Dewhurst bashing in 2011.

I think some of the Republican candidates in other states would be better to bash the establishment guy on amnesty and mass immigration; rather than Obamacare and the Debt.

Harry Reid and Obama will still be able to stop able to stop a lot of GOP bills regarding Obamacare in 2015 but there will be smooth passage of any amnesty bill.

How did LePage win? Was the system rigged against him?

Mary has only faced ex-Democrats gaining 52% of the vote. She goes to a runoff.

It is good we have Vitter and not some open borders RINO who can buy a primary.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Important stuff and Dan Patrick, who comes from the radio world as a talk host, radio station owner in Texas and State Senator understands the grassroots better than the established GOPe politicians.

Patrick lead the GOP pack for Lieutenant Governor on a different track calling illegal immigration an “invasion” making the party insiders mad.

Maybe he and George P. Bush (won Land Commissioner primary) will face off in the future to settle this matter in a GOP primary/

Yes . . . on votes that COUNT. This is always the issues with RINOS-—they are clever to vote “right” on stuff that doesn’t matter, but manage to vote wrong on the votes that count.

The Texas media are being concern trolls. They think he might alienate 20% of Texas who wants to keep tuition for illegals.

Agreed. Dewhurst won't go higher. This is the first stepping stone for Bush. He'll run for state Attorney General next, followed by Governor or Senator.

I'm guessing that the voters of TX did not find Cornyn all that "liberal" or all that RINO-ish, and instead probably think the battle ought to be against Dems. But I'm just guessing.

Careful, that kind of rational thinking on a rant thread like this will get you labeled as a shill for the GOP-E. The truth is Cornyn has one of the most conservative voting records in the senate, but he has pissed a lot of us off with certain votes. He also broke Reagan's 11th commandment in the most egregious way possible when he harshly criticized his fellow republican from Texas for standing up against the democrats. That was why I voted against him on principle in the primary, but his overall record is why I will definitely vote AGAINST his democrat opponent in the general election and try to ensure that the senate seat he is occupying stays in the GOP column.
