About last night: Texas primary highlights

"The No. 2 ranking Republican in the Senate, John Cornyn, easily won his primary, grabbing nearly 62% of the vote, according to the tally of the Texas Secretary of State's office. That's well over the 50% threshold needed to avoid a runoff, which is required by Texas law if no candidate receives a majority."

Not surprising really. Cornyn is the GOP candidate whether we like it or not.

Too bad he won the primary, and it was good that he didn’t endorse him during the primary. Now, it’s a no brainer.

Cruz’s post-primary endorsement of Cornyn

snip

“He’s earned considerable respect in the Senate. We have not agreed on everything, but
we have agreed on the vast majority of issues,” Cruz posted Wednesday on Facebook.
He added that he was “proud” to endorse Cornyn – along with two other GOP nominees:
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott for governor, and George P. Bush for land commissioner.

“My position all along — you and I have had this conversation a hundred times —
is that I’m likely going to stay out of incumbent Republican primaries. It’s no
longer an incumbent Republican primary,” Cruz said. “From Day 1 John Cornyn and I have
had a good working relationship. We have been friends. We have agreed on the vast majority
of issues. I think we’re a strong and effective team working for Texas.”

He noted that even without an endorsement, he did donate to Cornyn’s campaign.
That was last May, when his political action committee sent a $2,500 check.

I am curious about just how many votes that Cornyn got last night were from RATs jumping into the Republican Primary to skew the vote?

Well, now that that’s over, John can go back to figuring out a way to sneak amnesty through and screwing up the GOP’s chances of retaking the Senate.

Well this is it. Cruz is a RINO. Guess its time to throw him aside and move to the next flavor of the month.

John Cornyn has a lifetime 93% conservative voting record and he was at 96% for his Senate votes in 2013 according to the American Conservative Union’s Ratings of Congress.

Tejas will learn that re-electing the RINO will never work. They deserve all that is coming to them. Sad day really.

That’s ok. I’m still with Cruz. We’’ll have to endure another Cornyn for a while longer. I think he’s been scared shi!less and will watch what he does from now on.

Sigh... People today really really piss me off. I know a lot of people running the gamut from young to old, liberal to conservative. Without asking everyone, I know maybe 4-5 who definitely voted. One high school guy who now works for Dem campaigns, 2 high school buddies who are big republican, and my mom is pretty active. That’s it.

The worst part about it is, is most people DIDN’T EVEN KNOW VOTING WAS HAPPENING. (Best way to word that?) Supposedly about 10% managed to vote in the primaries. From my experience, that number is rather high. Unfortunately.

I understand why he did this, but it don’t mean I support it, and it don’t mean I’d vote for Cornyn if I lived in his area.

I ain’t a party man no more.
