The citys school district has been accused in a federal lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice of discriminating against an employee who said he couldn't trim his beard for religious reasons.
The complaint, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court, alleges the School District of Philadelphia in October 2010 instituted a grooming policy preventing school police and security officers from having beards more than a quarter of an inch long and discriminated against Siddiq Abu-Bakr and other people by failing to accommodate their religious beliefs.

Did he have the beard when he was hired? Yes
Did they understand he had the beard for religious reasons?
Not definitively answered but can be assumed due to being employed for over 20 years.
Is there a valid safety reason for the new policy? Unlikely.
The school district screwed up. They may have been able to go with the new policy if they grandfathered any current employee and simply did not hire anyone with a beard afterwards, (who could prove why) but in do it as they did... Not so good.
Those beards help us identify those of the fifth column, the riders in the Trojan horse.
So... if I’m a Christian, it’s illegal for me to wear a crucifix, but if I’m a Moslem, I don’t have to shave my beard...
Okay, I get it.
Is it okay if I blow up a few Infidels?
Their religious beliefs include putting bomb vests on children and sending them to kill Jews. Is that belief going to be accomodated?
Kick the savages out and this problem won’t happen.
