A new poll by the Washington Post shows that amnesty is a vote-loser for GOP legislators.
The poll of 1,002 adults shows that pluralities of independents and moderates oppose candidates who support amnesty, which was euphemistically dubbed “a path to citizenship” by the poll designers.
The poll showed that 41 percent of independents and 37 percent of moderates were less likely to vote for an amnesty-backer.
Only 28 percent of independents and moderates said they were more likely to vote for a candidate who backs amnesty.
The poll showed legislators’ support for amnesty inflicted a 12-point penalty from registered voters, 28 points from white people who did not go to college, 14 points from middle-class people who earn between $50,000 and $100,000, and even a few points from college grads, people who earn over $100,000 and people who earn less than $50,000,

If presented right, they could in one fail swoop grab nearly ALL the remaining poor whites still in the democratic party along with a majority of union members.

Then they'll have to do it. And that would make their Chamber of Commerce and elitist paymasters real unhappy. It's okay to talk about it to get votes, but not to actually close that cheap labor spigot.
Doesn’t matter what the general citizenry wants, both Dems and Pubbies will be back pushing amnesty.
It was pushed 4 times during GWBush’s 2 terms, and 1 time, so far, during the Obama years.
Basically nobody really wants amnesty and these political hacks just can’t seem to grasp it.

It is like the entire party has gone crazy! every single twit from conservatives and republicans are totally against any kind of illegal reform or amnesty. Every issue our country faces leads right straight back to the illegal invasion! It is obvious these reps have no idea what their everyday constituency expects from our elected officials.

It is a job killer, it is a cop out, it is a crime to go against the will of the people. 17 Americans are killed everyday by illegals. Every crime they commit against an American citizens, every child molested, every single act of fraud, robbery, rape and vehicular manslaughter using whatever name they use that month is blamed on the lack of our government to use force to protect us! 27% of the entire US prison population is a violent illegal that walked into America with little resistance. I am pushing against every single republican who is gutless and isn’t strong enough to say heck no!
I wash shocked they invited Ctispy Kreme to speak. He’s about as conservative as Charlie Crist.
