Utah Sen. Mike Lee endorses Greg Brannon in contested Senate primary (North Carolina)

Adding to his tea party credentials, Greg Brannon on Thursday received an endorsement from Utah Sen. Mike Lee, who called him a “solid conservative.”

"I think this will be a primary in which ... conservative credentials will be on the line," Lee told the News & Observer in an interview, “and a primary in which there will be a heavy emphasis on Obamacare and Mr. Brannon’s background, his familiarity with Obamacare and why it’s hurting people, will be a real asset to him.

"I think his credentials as a constitutional conservative focused on conservative reform will set him apart," he added.

Lee’s support is a boost for Brannon’s campaign and adds to endorsements from Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and FreedomWorks, a national tea party organization. Brannon touted the endorsement, saying he was the first candidate in the nation backed by Lee and Paul.

“I'm eager to join him in the effort to repeal Obamacare, advance a conservative reform agenda, and restore constitutionally limited government to the U.S. Senate,” Brannon said of the Lee endorsement.

The first-time candidate and Cary obstetrician is appealing to hard-core conservatives, appearing on Glenn Beck’s radio program and talking about his desire to eliminate major federal agencies. He believes the federal government has two legitimate roles: protecting free trade and providing national defense.

The endorsement comes a day ahead of Brannon’s trip to Washington for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). He is holding a fundraising reception nearby at McCormick & Schmick’s. The top ticket for a couple is $500 and an individual price is $165, according to an invite. Paul and Matt Kibbe, the FreedomWorks leader, are expected to attend his event.

With Texas behind us, North Carolina is the next battle. The primary is on May 6th.

Mitch McConnell and Karl Rove are trying get Thom Tillis the nomination.

Tea Partiers are for Greg Brannon!

With Kay Hagan continually sinking in the polls, the Establishment knows that whoever is the republican nominee will likely be the next Senator. So they are working to prevent another conservative from getting into the senate by supporting one of their own minions.

Just yesterday, Thom Tillis said Obamacare was a "good idea."

Let's defeat Mitch's boy by putting Greg Brannon over the top on May 6th!

Do you have a link to Tillis’ comment about Obamacare? Thanks?

Guys. we need to win this. Stovall and Stockman were never endorsed and ran bankrupt campaigns in Texas. Do not be disheartened, because at the state level, we saw conservatives win. Here, we have a candidate who has worked his butt off, he’s endorsed by Freedomworks, Rand, and now Mike. He is a constitutional scholar, a terrific orator, and he would crush Kay Hagan no problem.

Rally the troops!

Greg Bannon was convicted last month of misleading two investors in a startup company.

Actually, it was a civil suit and he was held liable by the jury.

“Greg Bannon was convicted last month of misleading two investors in a startup company.”

Yeah, and that lawsuit curiously popped up just at the time that Brannon was tied or leading Tillis against Hagan, just as Bevin’s TARP signature popped up just at the time he was showed to be leading McConnell against Grimes.

And Brannon’s partner was left unscathed on the same charge. Hmmmmm.

Brannon is appealing the verdict.

Some background on the setup here: Liberal Media: The Greg Brannon Files.
SilenceDogood2010′s Conclusion: Something stinks here. Maybe the jury was somehow tainted or paid off to find Brannon, and Brannon alone, as the guilty party. Strictly because he is seen as a threat to the democrats and the GOP establishment. I think TIME will tell.

I'm glad to see sitting GOP Senators are at least not banned by McConnell from supporting primary challengers to Dem Senators. Even if they are not the gOpE's 'chosen' one.

Despite the endorsements, Brannon’s campaign has suffered a number of setbacks in its first months. In late 2013, he acknowledged reviewing passages for his campaign website that plagiarized from Paul’s site and earlier this year a jury found him solely responsible for misleading investors in a tech company he helped start. He is expected to pay more than $250,000 to resolve the case.

Brannon also failed to pay the property taxes on his home on time and did not submit the required ethics paperwork to the U.S. Senate as part of his campaign.

HOLY S**T !!! Where the hell do we get these candidates with skeletons in their closet or a closet full of "baggage"? Just damn!!!

Greg Bannon was convicted last month of misleading two investors in a startup company __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That's the skeleton in his closet. He also has a lot of baggage. SEE POST #13 on this Thread. Do not try to clean-up his s**t up folks. We're screwed again. Peception is reality, as the old saying goes. And, voters do vote their perception of a candidate. Let's see: Todd Akin in Missouri, Richard Mourdock in Indiana, the screwed-up shyster, Steve Stockman in Texas, Dr. Wolf and his X-Ray scandal in Kansas..... NOW THIS!!! WTF?

Ok, you can calm down a bit. The lawsuit was likely a setup and rigged. It popped up just as Brannon tied Tillis in the polls and was ahead against Hagan. The jury found him “solely responsible” while his partner (being sued on the same charge) remained unscathed. Curious.

He’s not a tax evader. He supposedly missed one payment and his taxes are now current.

http://www.wral.com/us-senate-candidate-had-unpaid-property-tax-bill/13405163/

And who gives a damn about an ethics form to the US Senate. Can you say Ted Kennedy??

You know who the perfect GOP candidates are, the establishment-preferred ones whose skeletons are quietly covered up or conveniently never mentioned until some democrat finds them to take them out.

Uh huh.... "likely".... "supposedly"...... Remember Cotton: Perception is reality.

Yeah, and this is how they trick us into abandoning our good, conservative candidates (who have flaws like the rest of us. Ever miss a payment??) for their “safe, more reliable, tested, groomed, established” candidate, who always happen to think that things like Amnesty, and in Tillis’ case Obamacare, are “great things.”

I’m not fooled. I’m not afraid of “another Todd Akin.” I don’t bite my nails that “we may lose a senate seat if we go for somebody not established.” I’m behind Brannon, just as Mike Lee is.

Mike Lee endorsed him. Im sure it is just what happens in court.

The jury didn’t rule against the other guy who testified. Maybe they just assumed he was guilty.

Mike Lee would not endorse Brannon if he was corrupt.
