if were gonna kill this Keystone XL pipeline I supported one month ago
And I quote: Based on safety I think the President should give this project the stamp of approval. Environmental groups obviously think differently. And so do the majority of people on the left. But this newsflash: Were not getting out of the oil business in America. It runs our economy. Do we have climate change? Yes we do. But the construction of this pipeline does not mean we are going to consume more as a country. So a brand-new pipeline, to me, makes sense.
That was Ed Schultz, in February.
Ed Schultz in February, meet Ed Schultz in March.
It was April of 1965, April 17th. There were 25,000 people who showed up to protest the Vietnam War.
And it evolved to this, this day, November 15, 1969, thats what a half a million people looked like when theyre on the mall in Washington, D.C. This is the largest anti-war demonstration in American history. Is the pipeline that bad? I think its fantastic that there was a demonstration on Sunday in Washington and there were 400 people. Maybe its because of fax machines. Maybe its because of the internet. Maybe its because of iPhones, maybe its because of text messaging and the information age. Maybe were just a different society today. I dont know what its going to take to stop the pipeline and get the message to the President of the United States. But for reference, this is what we had to do to stop war. So all of these folks across the America who want to stop the pipeline, youre in the 11th hour.
So how big are protests in Vietnam these days?
john f’n kohn-kerry-heinz could be out front on that since he’s been there done that.
Oh.
I thought he was talking about a protest the physical size of Vietnam - 128,565 sq mi.
It is just looney the way they think this one pipeline would change everything if installed.
This map tells you how poor our local and national leadership is. It also indicates how poorly educated Americans are when it comes to energy.
Great visual. I’ll have to lift that one for use later.
It goes in line with my solution to “man made global warming” and the “disaster” that is rising sea levels. We need to have every American visit an ocean once a year and remove one 5-gallon bucket of water from the sea. Take the water out of the ocean and pour it into a storm drain. Fictional result of fictional cause of fictional problem resolved!
“I think its fantastic that there was a demonstration on Sunday in Washington and there were 400 people”.
the rest of the global warmists were just trying to stay warm somewhere
Not gonna happen.
I blame Telex machines.
Maybe it's because in Vietnam thousands of Americans were being killed and a lot of young men were being drafted and sent there, while the Keystone XL pipeline isn't nearly that threatening to those Schultz wants to get out and protest.
Yup, Kerry could show up and throw someone elses medals into the Reflecting Pool.
Wow. A Yellowstone Caldera eruption and/or New Madrid Fault shift would make a mess of all that groundwork... turn it to pink.
I didn’t see my first FAX machine until sometime in the late eighties. Before that we used telex.
Didn’t that pretty much end the “student” protests on campus?
When we were going up the escalator we wonder loudly why so many were leaving and shouted that question across to the packed down escalator. They shouted back, "It's too hot to stay even in the shade!" The "Drive-By Media" helicoptors and those of the park police couldn't see the thousands and thousands of peacefully demonstrating Tea Partiers, hiding from that blazing sun in far greater numbers than any "Million Man Marches" or the numerous much smaller Vietnam War protests that littered the National Mall with uncollected trash!!!
Go back once more and look up those pictures and think of what I've just told you and see it from the perspective of one of thousands that drove cross-country to participate with NO financial assistance or communutty organizer block-grants, etc. to pay from our time away from our business or for our transportation costs, etc!!!
Were gonna need some Vietnam-sized protests
++++++++
Sorry Skulltz, the communists in Russia don’t have the cash to fund any more of those protests. It’s up to you commies in the media to pony up your salaries, get off your fat, lazy a$$es and hit the bricks.
Fax machines?
People still use those things?
A month ago, Schultz was supporting the pipeline. Either his masters at MS-DNC yanked him back into line or he is getting Alzheimers.
