BOSTON, March 6, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The organizers of Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade have rescinded their controversial invitation to a homosexual advocacy group, saying they believe the group’s application was a “ploy” made under “false pretenses.”
The news comes days after a Catholic school said it would withdraw its iconic float and school band from the March 16 celebration because of the decision.
"In the footsteps of St. Patrick, [Immaculate Heart of Mary School] does not condone and will not appear to condone the homosexual lifestyle,” Brother Thomas Dalton, the school’s principal, said in a statement reported by the Telegram.
"This float has become the Icon of the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in South Boston appearing in all types of media whenever the parade is mentioned," said Dalton. "The familiar scene of St. Patrick joyfully giving his blessing to the crowds has, sad to say, come to an end."
“We must stand firm with the Church which states in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, promulgated by Pope John Paul II, that 'homosexual acts are acts of grave depravity' and 'are intrinsically disordered,' ” Brother Dalton said.
The parade has historically upheld a “no sexual orientation” policy, meaning they bar participants from promoting homosexuality.
News reports on Saturday indicated that the South Boston Allied War Veterans Council, which organizes the parade, had reached a deal with the homosexual lobby group MassEquality to allow its affiliate, LGBT Veterans for Equality, to march in the event “openly and honestly” in order to identify themselves as homosexuals.
However, on Monday the veterans council issued a statement saying they intend “to keep this parade a family friendly event.”
“It is our belief that the application submitted to us by LGBT Veterans for Equality was a ploy by them to enter this parade under false pretenses and is hereby denied,” they stated.
According to the statement, the homosexual group’s application had said they would have 20 veterans in the delegation.
“After some consideration, the Council agreed that Any Veteran should be allowed to march, regardless of sexual orientation,” the statement reads. “This application was conditionally approved as submitted with the understanding that These 20 Veterans can march but no sexual orientation would be displayed.”
But at a meeting Sunday night, the organizers said, “it was made clear to us that the LGBT Veterans for Equality do not have 20 United States Veterans who wish to march. Rather, they presented only one supposed Veteran and a group of others carrying rainbow flags. When asked about a Color Guard, their loan Veteran replied that he wasn’t sure he could supply any more Veterans willing to march.”
“It is our intention to keep this an Irish Celebration, dedicated to our Men and Women serving in our Armed Forces. We will fight to keep our parade and its traditions,” they said. “We will not allow any group to damage the Integrity of the historic event or our reputation as a safe and fun filled day for all. We strive to hold the largest and most entertaining St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Country.”
As a result of the organizers’ decision, Immaculate Heart of Mary School says it will join the parade.
Brother Dalton explained that homosexuals flagrantly trying to push their way into the faith-based, family-oriented parade is not new.
As far back as 1991 homosexual marchers wanted to participate in the South Boston event. After being notified of this at the time, Brother Dalton recalled telling parade organizer John Hurley, "If they're in, we're out."
In 1992, Massachusetts courts ruled that parade organizers must allow homosexual groups to march in the parade.
The organizers responded in 1995 by making participation in the parade "by invitation only," and said the event would focus on commemorating the role of traditional families in Irish history.
The US Supreme Court overturned the Massachusetts court decision when it ruled later that year that state courts had violated the parade sponsors’ First Amendment rights when they forced organizers to allow the homosexual groups to participate.
A parent with eight children who attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School and who himself had portrayed St. Patrick a number of times on the school's float, told the Telegram, “This parade is meant to honor [St. Patrick] and should not be used as political leverage for any special interest group.”
According to the South Boston St. Patrick's Parade website, the event is the second-largest parade in the country and is viewed by nearly 600,000 to 1 million people every year.
Hmmmm...
Good question! Do the faggies agitate to march in Cinco de Mayo parades?
And if not, why not?
Maybe it’s cuz “maricon” is a kind of death sentence in Spanish.
Faeries out.
However, it was found that there was only one veteran that was going to march, and the rest were Gay militants.
Basically, the color guard probably would only carry a rainbow flag and would not be composed of veterans...
The Gays would not honor the rules of the Veterans Group that sponsored the invite and the invite was revoked for that reason.
The Gays (there was actually only one veteran) did not want to march in uniform and follow the code of the Veterans Group.
Instead, these perverts wanted to make it into an LGBT event for them wearing Gay sashes and Gay T-shirts (rainbow crud)

We would like to thank all of you who took the time to write letters, faxes and phone calls in support of our recent decision to deny the application submitted to us by LGBT Veterans for Equality. It became evident to us we were being misled by them and that is where negotiations ended. We have always tried to keep things on an even Kiel with regard to our changing community and political correctness. Do not be fooled by the Trojan Horse. Indeed all things are not what they seem. The Council has learned this the hard way. Were not perfect, were a group of volunteers that love this parade. We appreciate your continued support in lieu of the derogatory correspondence some of you received as a plot to circumvent donations greatly needed to finance this parade. As you know, this parade is funded by our community and our corporate sponsors. We will not allow anyone to express harmful or inappropriate messages. This was a decision we made for the good of this parade.
Keep in mind, we are approached by all types of groups. Some of which try to destroy the integrity of not only this parade, but our faith, this town and our Country. And to those we say, No!, stay home, Not in my town Rest assured, we will continue to exclude anyone that tries to compromise the publics enjoyment of this parade. We strive to host the largest and most entertaining parade anywhere. We are broadcast on live television, and draw crowds that exceed one million people.
We are tough proud South Bostonians, with deep scars from controversy that dates back decades. Saint Patrick is the Patron Saint of our Irish. We love our parade. This parade is a chance for all to join together and celebrate the love of friends, family, and the faith of our community. We invite all to join us to celebrate this historic event, but we must maintain our guidelines to insure the enjoyment and public safety of our spectators.
See you all on the 16th of March. Well take you, and break you, but never forsake you, in Southie Our Hometown Sincerely Yours, The Council

PRESS REALEASE
3, March 2014
At a recent meeting of The South Boston Allied War Veterans Council, a motion was brought up about reconsidering an application that had been previously rejected. This application was submitted by LGBT Veterans of Equality, (An affiliate of Mass Equality). The reason for this rejection was a clear violation of our No sexual orientation rule, and not that we ban Gay people as reported by the press.
The application stated that 20 United States Veterans wished to March with Mayor Walsh and other Politicians in this years parade. They also indicated that they were a Veterans Organization, helping Veterans from Cradle to Grave. After some consideration, the Council agreed that Any Veteran should be allowed to march, regardless of sexual orientation. Further, any organization which helps our Veterans is welcome. This application was conditionally approved as submitted with the understanding that These 20 Veterans can march but no sexual orientation would be displayed, and the group would comply with our standard Code of Conduct, followed by all marching units in this parade.
To our surprise, the offer was rejected by Mass Equalitys representative Kara Coredini. Her rejection was based on the fact that we would not allow LGBT Veterans to identify themselves as openly Gay by means of signage and T Shirts Identifying Them as LGBT Veteran. This clearly violates our code of conduct.
At a closed door City Hall meeting last night it was made clear to us that the LGBT Veterans for Equality do not have 20 United States Veterans who wish to march. Rather, they presented only one supposed Veteran and a group of others carrying rainbow flags. When asked about a Color Guard, their loan Veteran replied that he wasnt sure he could supply any more Veterans willing to march.
The Council performs background checks on groups wishing to march prior to their acceptance. We were unable to find any evidence of LGBT Veterans for Equality that would confirm them as a recognized Veterans Organization.
We appreciate the efforts the Mayors office to try and mediate this issue. However it is our intention to keep this an Irish Celebration, dedicated to our Men and Women serving in our Armed Forces. We will fight to keep our parade and its traditions.
Therefore, we The Allied War Veterans of South Boston fell we were misled by LGBT Veterans for Equality. It is our belief that the application submitted to us by LGBT Veterans for Equality was a ploy by them to enter this parade under false pretenses and is hereby denied.
It is our intention to keep this parade a family friendly event. We will not allow any group to damage the Integrity of the historic event or our reputation as a safe and fun filled day for all. We strive to hold the largest and most entertaining St. Patricks Day Parade in the Country.
God Bless our Troops and God Bless this Country!
This is a veterans' issue, as these Gays tried to be a Trojan Horse by duping the Veterans Group to sponsor them.

I included the press release by this group about why they rejected the application of the Gays as just being a deceptive ploy a couple of posts up in this article...
He's known locally as "Wacko" Hurley (not an insult, probably his nickname since high school!). He's pretty old and walks with a cane, but he's at 7:00 a.m. Mass every day (he goes to my church).
St. Louis pols organized their own parade because the Hibernians wouldn’t let the queers in. Now the downtown parade is full of the same crowd as Mardi Gras, while Dogtown is still family friendly although much alcohol is consumed.
How is this different than what the bakers and photographers were doing.
Wait ... WHAT!?!?!?
Is that a real picture? Of real people? Not a still from a movie?
If so, I’m impressed.
They're real. I can see why Satan would want to corrupt these children.
Strictly speaking, the tallest one is probably not a student.
Nice. Glad to know that. The Roman Catholic Church is always at it’s best when it is clearly, unapologetically, unambiguously ... Roman Catholic. Nice to see nuns that look like nuns. Instead of “Sister Weirdo” in a frumpy dress beating on a submarine with a hammer.
In my weirdest dreams I never saw Chief Torpedoman's Mate Mackelprang beating on the hull of a submarine with a ball peen hammer while wearing a frumpy dress...:)
Of course it was. They are liberals, they will lie to get their way. Nice to see they stood up.
Steve King warned of this. The gays will just try to start lawsuits for self professed behaviour.
That Pride thing they keep promoting is the same sort of Pride that God has said he hates..and.It’s truly all they have.
