CHICAGO (AP) — When superrich Republican Bruce Rauner decided to run for governor of Illinois, it was clear this wouldn't be the kind of race the state was accustomed to. Rauner, who made his fortune as a venture capitalist, was new to campaigning and bragged of being beholden to no one. He came out swinging at entrenched special interests and "government union bosses" with an intensity not seen before.

I’ll happily crawl through broken glass to vote for Bruce Rauner. The IL GOP aka Democrat-lite candidates are pulling out all stops, full flop-sweat panic - even teaming up against Rauner in joint ads, so you know know they are shiiting themselves. Rauner is spending his own money, promising term limits and business-like operation of the state the RATs have run into the ground.

And no worries, I clicked on Yahoo six times

"I think all the national unions fear they'll have another Scott Walker on their hands if he should come in," said Don Rose, a longtime Chicago political analyst, referring to the Republican governor of Wisconsin who stripped state employee unions of most of their bargaining powers after his election in 2010.

You would think the political analyst would actually know what the hell he is talking about..

Scott Walker only got achieved what he did with solid support of the Wisconsin state legislation with his solid and fearless leadership..

Illinois is no where near having a GOP controlled legislature and even if they did, they would all have been paid off..

I’ve always thought that electing fabulously wealthy older people would be a great idea because they can’t be bought with money, and are too old to care about power.

If he gets elected, I hope he doesn’t wind up in jail like most of Illinois’ previous governors did during my lifetime.

You and me both, my friend. I’m going to vote early just in case I die before election day.

In which case, you'll get to vote again. For a different party.

I’ll happily crawl through broken glass to vote for Bruce Rauner.

Bruce Rauner is a pro-abortion, anti-traditional marriage candidate. That’s reason enough not to vote for him.
Also he was a no show at all the debates. He’s relying on his $$$$$ to win the elections.

Rauner: North Shore elitist with a history of backing Dems with his dough and chumming it up with Rahm; he’s got enough money to hire media consultants to saturate the airwaves with messages that play well with Illinoisans fed-up with the idiots who’ve ruined this state, but he has no track record in doing anything politically that’s even remotely conservative.

Illinois is such a total disaster that the Democrats have figured out the only way they can maintain control is to run their incumbent on the Democrat line, and at the same time run a Democrat puppet who can buy the Republican primary. The Combine strikes yet again, with Rahm Emanuel pulling the strings over in City Hall.

“I’ve always thought that electing fabulously wealthy older people would be a great idea. . .”

Like John Heinz Kerry, Teddy Kennedy, Jay Rockefeller, Mark Warner, Diane Feinstein, Richard Blumenthal, Nancy Pelosi, and Claire McCaskill? Maybe we should elect George Soros, Warren Buffett, and Michael Bloomberg as well.

Virtually all of the people listed here except the last three didn’t make their first millions themselves - they married it or were born into a degenerating dynasty. And at least two of the last three might be crazy, but I still maintain that they can’t be bought!
