Some high school students in Westchester County were under fire Wednesday evening, after their basketball team lost a close game.
As CBS 2s Don Champion reported, Mahopac High School fell to Mount Vernon High School in the semifinals, and after the game, some students took to social media after the game, and many people said what they posted online was racist.

Oh, yeah, let me point out: this purported RACISM is happening in the state of Hitlery Clinton, Chuck Schumer, and Andrew Cuomo and the deBlasio commie—NEW YORK.
Maybe Eric Holder ought to make sure the elections in New York are free and fair....you know, like he wants to do in the south.
I thought it was Southern Republican Tea Partiers who were the wacists.
Mahopac, NY, is upstate enough to be a solidly Republican town. Mount Vernon, however, borders on NYC, is very Democratic, and has a large African-American population.
Personally, I am phuquing sick of people offended by words.
LOL!!
I know that this will be misconstrued but frankly: So what?
A group of foolish boys being foolish.
Why is it turning into another drama.
I thought it was the Amish again. They get blamed for the knock out game, they might as well get blamed for this too.
Mahopac is in putnam county NY, not westchester county...
mount vernon is left wing....mahopac is not upstate- its 60 minutes from manhattan...
And then there was this...
Parts of the article read like a 14 year old wrote it.
“mahopac is not upstate- its 60 minutes from manhattan...”
Aw, c’mon. Anything North of Riverdale is “upstate!”
I lived in Mahopac in the 50s/early 60s; back then (pre-I84)it was the better part of 2 hrs to drive into Manhattan. It was REAL country then; has since become a far suburb/commuter town.
If there were comments in both directions, we all know which side will be reported as racists. If a black calls a white a creepy ass cracker, which one will the media call racist?
Back in the 1960s, when Southern blacks, who had just desegregated the South, moved North, they thought that the North would be easy to desegregate as they supported Southern desegregation.
They quickly found that desegregating the NORTH was a tough nut to crack as the Northerners fought them hand and fist from start to finish, unlike the South.
The northeast part of the country is far more racist than the South.
“...and after the game, some students took to social media after the game...”
Who writes this s***?
Did they release the Twitter messages from both sides? I am sure there was taunting from both teams.
It may not be Upstate by Mahopac standards, but it sure is by NYC standards—and has significantly more registered Republicans than Democrats.
What do you base that insight on?
