Issuing a last call for health care, President Barack Obama assured Latinos on Thursday that signing up for new insurance exchanges won't lead to deportation for any relatives in the U.S. illegally.
Facing fresh skepticism from one of his traditionally most loyal constituencies, Obama pushed back on the notion of some critics that he's become America's "deporter in chief," insisting that Latinos know that "I've got their back." In a virtual town hall meeting with Spanish-language media outlets, Obama disputed that his credibility had been undermined by the chaotic health care rollout and his failure to secure legal status for millions of Latinos in the U.S. illegally.
"The main point that I have for everybody watching right now is, you don't punish me by not signing up for health care," Obama said. "You're punishing yourself or your family if in fact there's affordable health care to be had."

Obama is in denial that while Hispanics come here for a variety of reasons (work, freebies, indoor plumbing, etc.), paying taxes was not something they’re signing up for. The Supreme Court ruled it was a tax, and the American people are treating it as such; Obama can’t walk that back.

Also, I don’t think Hispanics trust the US government very much. US sponsored “health” initiatives in most Latin American countries don’t concern themselves with things like clean water, but go directly for “reproductive health,” that is, population control and abortion.

His audience is thinking “why should I fork over my cash for premiums and co-pays when the ER will always treat me for free?”

That’s true. Even when some households are getting $18,000+ per year subsidies under ObamaCare, they still won’t sign up, because it might cost them a few hundred bucks. And they call the rich “greedy.”

Good points; there isn’t much reason for them to trust our government. The whole amnesty scam, which is portrayed as a compassionate move by our libs, can easily be viewed as incompetent and self-serving corruption to Hispanic immigrants who “played by the rules”.
