My contract ends in November, so I'm looking at my future from all angles. Assuming the well remains dry for this soon to be sexagenarian, I'm looking at everything, to include:
A variety of part-time jobs, to include substitute teaching, contract tax work, etc. to pay the bills until I can start drawing SS.
Eating right and exercising to (hopefully) minimize medical bills.
Sell/downsize from our current house, and pocket the $100K in equity.
Back to part-time jobs: I can see work arising seasonally, such as during tax season, teaching summer school, etc.
Sounds like a good plan.
For about a decade, we have found good guys to do work on, in and around our house.
We have an informal network of neighbors and friends who find, refer and hire these guys. Many owned their own businesses or were partners and did want the constant aggravation of being a boss. They do excellent work and are easy to deal with.
