Something seems fishy?
NBC 5 Chicago The Unique Thrift Store on the south side of Chicago is closed after employee Maria Carmen Dominguez, 54, was shot and killed when a gun fell out of a donated sock.

"When he shook the item out of the sock, police say the gun accidentally discharged in his hand."
.....when his accidental finger accidentally pulled the accidental trigger.

Oh good grief, this will give fodder to the anti gun lobby ... guns really do kill people on their own!

“When the male co-worker discovered a sock with something inside, he emptied the sock and a .22-caliber handgun fell into his hand, police said. The weapon accidentally discharged and struck the victim in the chest, police said. She later died at Christ Hospital.”
Maybe this?
Do not try to catch a dropped gun.

the gun accidentally dischargedAnother irresponsible gun on the loose, I see. It probably came from a broken home.

and just think, there’s probably another orphaned sock somewhere in the world...
This is really a sad story. What a way to go.

Ban socks. At least a thirty day waiting period. After all, it’s for the children.

It fell out of the sock, into his hand, and fired itself. Sure.

I wonder if this was an illegal or legal gun. Was it registered? We know it didn’t have a trigger lock.

Why Not?
SUV’s kill people, run into buildings, get involved in police chases on a daily basis.
I would be checking out the guy that was handling it and see if anything going on between them.....
