Is Rick Perry the GOP Dark Horse for 2016?

I caught a bit of Rick Perry's CPAC speech today and, boy, does he have a fire in the belly.

Had we seen this fire in 2012, then perhaps he would have won the GOP nomination. Of course, Perry underwent back surgery which significantly contributed to his lackluster campaign.

The “big tent” approach, to appeal to the moderate center and never offend anyone, is a proven failurefor the GOP. (And especially for the GOP-e!)

Ted Cruz got it right at CPAC. Take a position and hold it firmly, even if that support is politically incorrect or seems harsh to some. Appeal to your base and the moderates will follow.

Hand the ball to Sarah Palin. She has more spine than the entire GOP establishment combined.

Time to break some eggs if we’re ever going to havebreakfast!

I am still rather heartless

People sure do have short memories, which explains McCain, Cornyn, Christie, Bush, Perry, ad nauseum.

What we need is a one armed black/latino lesbian dwarf that can speak Spanish, make sushi and dance to good house music.

We tried that with Bob Dole.

I’m posting having only heard excerpts, but setting aside the necessity for Christ like spouting continuous Conservative Gospel, Rick was a powerful governor that has a very good track record, spat in the eye of the President and the Attorney General several times.

Cruz and Sarah are good on the stump but Perry and Walker are good, proven very good, in the office. That’s what I want. I want a money man, a business man that has a record of building.

Can you point it out on a map?

Well, you can't run government "like a business" because business is supposed to build and grow.

We need someone who is a human wrecking-ball...to bureaucracy. Business will then build itself.

Rick Perry was the featured speaker at the 2007 Bilderberg meeting in Ankara, Turkey. He was the anointed one in 2012 but he screwed up.
Perry is Soros-Kissinger-Bush-Clinton-Romney-McCain, etc.
Cruz and Palin are the only ones talking about American values, rights and Constitution.

I don’t believe you can win an election on that platform because people wish to hear ideas and solutions on a number of issues. It’s not as simple as that.

Your WRONG.. Yes it is.. It's JUST that simple..

Yeah Hoser, I tend to agree.

The ideas and solutions are simply: "repeal: tear down all this Socialist Claptrap" in order to free US citizens from the bonds of Communism.

Ted Cruz, as an American of Mexican descent might be the guy.

He is not!

He's a Cuban/Canadian-American.

I would like to see a Ted Cruz or even a Sarah Palin. Let them call the Democrats the creeps they are and let them call the establishment Republicans the punks they are and let the chips fall where they will fall.

How about this? CRUZ/PALIN 2016

So sick of excuses for this alien lover. He hopefully will never be President. Walker is our only chance quite frankly.

Rick Perry had his shot, he melted in front of the cameras.
_____________________________________________________________

Rick Perry is a decent, Christian man. But, those of us here in Texas, who have endured Rick for 2 1/2 decades in politics, know that he is not the brightest light in the harbor. In Texas, the Governor is primarily ceremonious with Veto power. The real power in Texas politics in the Lt. Gov. (All you skeptics can do a Google or Bing search.) Rick Perry is NOT Presidential timber.

Ted Cruz/Rand Paul would be a strong ticket as well.
_____________________________________________________________

Is that the same Rand Paul, the political whore who has endorsed, and is working for the reelection of, Mitch McConnell over the true Conservative, Matt Bevin? Screw that little punk.

Paul has said Obamacare is here to stay, so that alone removes him for me.

Ben Carson is the dark horse.
_____________________________________________________________
I could get excited about Ben Carson. He would definitely weaken the Dems “Black” vote. But, someone here on FR said he is NOT a strong 2nd Amendment guy. Know anything about that? That could hurt him in the Primaries.

If only Perry would have been in the White House.. Putin would have been signing a different tune with a man in charge.
