Good.
They did this in GA a few years back. The number of conservatives who voted for it was frightening.
At my
very Conservative church of Christ congregation, nearly all of the older men fire up a cigarette or two or five after services. Both the preacher and I no longer smoke but neither of us mind it one bit. In fact, the kitchen downstairs still has ashtrays as a courtesy for the numerous smokers. It may be partly cultural since the Stone-Campbell movement of the 19th Century had its roots in Kentucky, where some of the finest tobacco still grows.
And, as I mentioned in several pasts posts here in FR, no only is it not a smoke-free zone, but it's also not a gun-free zone. Everyone that I know is a gun owner and a good number of them bring their guns to services, including the preacher. He's often stated in sermons that guns secure our freedom to worship God. And that's 100% on target.
So I guess the term "smoking gun" is quite apt for us.
The number of conservatives who voted for it was frightening. The number of "conservative" FReepers who cheer these bans is frightening.
Some will be showing up on this thread before long.....
