You must have been dreaming, never happened.
Minorities, women, illegal immigrants mostly. They have come to expect the government to provide them with cradle to grave security so that they can spend their lives watching daytime television and enjoying other recreational activities on a full-time basis.
They have come to believe that Republicans and conservatives are mean-spirited people who if they had their way, would take away their freebies and force them to find jobs.
Which is really sad because having a job and earning your own paycheck is the most effective way to raise one's self-esteem and self-worth.
Prosperity = Happiness
Sitting at home collecting a welfare check is actually demeaning and not conducive at all to happiness. If we cannot get these people to realize that, then all is lost. This nation will eventually collapse because we will reach the point where there are more people riding the wagon than pulling it. And that is just not sustainable.

Think about it. If the worst Democrat in History, (ok 2nd worst) can pull 38% in a non-election year then think about a “regular” democrat running as a moderate?
Well Franklin is 100% correct and we are nearing the end of our republic.
I agree with you that we will likely never see a true conservative elected president again. Too many people now depend on government handouts and anybody campaigning to take them away will be summarily defeated.
Our only hope is somebody with the charisma of a Ronald Reagan coming along. Somebody like that might still be able to eke out an electoral victory, but the window of opportunity is closing.

Of course we will, after the repubilcan wins, the fed will stop printing money and interest rates will skyrocket, the stock market will crash and they will get the blame...
Go to the Gallup historical poll numbers for GWB and check the dates from Sept. 2008 thru Nov. 2008 and you will see his numbers hovered between 32% and 25% percent. It’s in black and white and not a dream pal.
Hollywood’s discovered their product is “entertainment - it’s not schoolmarm lectures scolding conservatives.
Or maybe only Donny Deutshc gets it... Either way, it’s a start.
