As conservative activist groups stirred up trouble for establishment Republican Senate candidates in 2010 and 2012, party leaders in Washington first tried to ignore the insurgents, then tried to reason with them, and ultimately left it to primary voters to settle the matter. [ ]
This election season, Republicans led by Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky are taking a much harder line as they sense the majority within reach. Top congressional Republicans and their allies are challenging the advocacy groups head on in an aggressive effort to undermine their credibility. The goal is to deny them any Senate primary victories, cut into their fund-raising and diminish them as a future force in Republican politics.
I think we are going to crush them everywhere, Mr. McConnell, the Senate Republican leader, said in an interview, referring to the network of activist organizations working against him and two Republican incumbents in Kansas and Mississippi while engaging in a handful of other contests. I dont think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country.

HUH?
Patton said he won BECAUSE Patton studied Rommel’s book.
Do you understand that point?
I am very happy that the majority of conservatives in Kansas do not agree with you.
Pat Roberts will win.
That is their winning strategy, never give up and never say you are sorry.
And guess what? it works!
So Yeah, I do understand the point.
Like the party leaders did with the presidential primaries in 2008 and 2012? HORSE PUCKEY.
By the time the primaries got to my state in 2008 and 20012, the GOP nominee had already long been decided by people in north east states and the symbolic-only selection whittled down to an assortment of functional Democrats registered as Republicans. Republicans didn't decide the Republican presidential candidate in McCain or Romney -- north east liberal Republicans did. Primary voters didn't settle a damned thing -- north east liberal voters did.
While I hope that in 2016, the GOP fields a functional limited government Republican for the presidential race, it is only common sense to predict AND PREPARE for another 2008-2012 scenario of a functional Democrat nominee whose entire political career has been one of growing, expanding, and defending government force.
As such, I am already mentally prepared for a VOTING alternative (not surrendering by staying at home, but HONORING THE SACRIFICE OF THOSE WHO FOUGHT FOR FREEDOM and using the vote that so much blood was shed to defend). I really think we had ALL better start assuming now that 2016 is going to look just like 2008 and 2012 in terms of GOP presidential candidates, and TO START PLANNING AN ALTERNATIVE THAT HAS A FIGHTING CHANCE TO SAVE AMERICA.
I hope the Stupid Party gets its ass handed to them and the Rats take total control over Washington. I'm dead serious. I'm sick of these Republicans who think that being slightly-less socialist version of Democrats are going to win them respect and office.
So, as we suspected, he was lying though his teeth at CPAC. Does he think we aren’t noticing his double dealing?
yes- he is an idiot but don’t you get the sense the NYSLimes is taking this completely out of context in the attempt to stir the sh^tpot and enrage Republicans against one another???
McConnell’s an idiot but he’s also a politician and any politician who wants to keep his job would not brazenly make these comments....
this will be the game plan moving forward for the criminal liberal media- further help divide and conquer the GOP in order to assist the left’s desperation to hold onto the senate...
Lets See..Iowa- BLUE STATE
New Hampshire- BLUE STATE
South Carolina- Red State.
And in 2012 which one didn't go for mittens?
The Primary should rotate between the top 5 Majority Republican States of the Last Election Cycle.
Then you will see the electorate feels.
A question asked and answered. Notice how Lerner walks free (and is collecting her nice pension), and the IRS is finalizing rules to finish the job.
They are the Uniparty E.E.E.
The Uniparty
This article is in the NYTimes. They are trying to spread disaffection within Republican ranks by publishing this, IMHO.
This is so blatantly unprofessional of Sen.McConnell to have said this to the NYTimes, I suspect their reporters collected the “quote” from someone else or likely made it up.
I would not put it past them to plant disinformation in an effort to destroy the Conservatives in this nation. After all, a Mexican citizen now owns a large part of the paper.
or the NYSlimes is lying....i trust neither McConnell or the NYSlimes but the Slimes wins without our (Tea Party) help- McConnell will not...
Michael Reagan told me his Dad’s first wife, Jane Wyman, demanded the divorce...Ronald Reagan didn’t want it and was crushed by it.
He spoke to our Tea Party group a few years ago and gave us the scoop.
The Tea Party stands for the U.S. Constitution AND that is what those of the Jabberwocky voters and politicians are so afraid of. Show them no mercy.....Standing For The United States Constitution Patriots -- The Tea Party.
Amen!
Well, the GOP-E and the DEMS need to hang together.
Chinless has been boasting of his plans to crush the TEA Party for months, so I don’t need NYT to tell me that’s what he wants. Meanwhile, his speech at CPAC set my blood boiling. I get the same sensation every time I hear Juan McQueeg declare he’s conservative.
They just can’t buy a clue.
Mitch McConnell just eliminated any reason for me to show up at the polls in November to vote against Dick Durbin (D. - IL.)
I hope Mitch "Harry Reid's Bitch" McConnell enjoys staying in the minority.
FU GOP-e.
The Group of Other Progressives (GOP) is at it again i see...doubt this works for them but the elect are getting wealthy in the process.
