On Fox and Friends this morning, Jim Kallstrom said this is nothing like the TWA flight that went down due to a center fuel tank explosion. How many people really buy that story?

Were there any infidels of note on the plane?

Twenty employees of Freescale Semiconductor.

More info on the pilots: Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah, a 53-year-old Malaysian, has 18,365 total flying hours and joined Malaysia Airlines in 1981, the website said. The first officer is Fariq Ab Hamid, 27, a Malaysian with a total of 2,763 flying hours. He joined Malaysia Airlines in 2007.

Not your typical splodey-plane scenario. Waiting 7 years is a bit much.

"If the plan was to blow up the plane out of Malaysia, it doesn't seem like they would have booked further travel.'

Two theories -

1. Additional travel would lower the suspicion of authorities. It's the one way tickets that get really scrutinized.

2. They were unwitting mules for devices they had no idea they were carrying or were convinced was something other than it was. The additional travel was booked to lower their suspicion.

What Kallstrom probably meant is that in this case there aren't a ton of witness stories that need to be buried. In that case, he's right - nothing like TWA 800.

Pilot Zahari had pretty fancy 777 flight simulator in his home. Other pilots said he was well qualified. photo zaharie-ahmad-shah-photos-7_zpsc7418dd5.jpg

No doubt the additional legs were made so as to not cast suspicion on just making a reservation for a one way ticket.

Could have been the first time they flew together and were of the same mindset. Could be that one overpowered the other.

Will know when they find the black box.

There was mentioned that both military and civilian radar indicated the plane may have attempted to turn around. They’re supposed to call in before they do that and there was no contact.

LOL; I remember hearing that one in the years after 9-11. Not having flown commercially since TWA800 (7/96), that’s a flight I’d take...

To travel through china without a visa, one needs a destination through.

Strange Malaysia Airlines should know what they did when they checked in with the airline..if they were just going to be passing through or not because the Airlines checks your passport to confirm you have the right visas if there needed aheady of time when you’re going into these countries ...because they don’t want to have fly you back if you’re not allowed in that country...
