4 Ways Conservatives Can Win, According to Ted Cruz

Can conservatives win the battle of ideas and transform America? According to Ted Cruz, the outspoken Texas senator who won with support of the Tea Party in 2012, it’s possible.

At a breakfast hosted by Politico’s chief White House correspondent Mike Allen last week, Cruz laid out four ways he thinks conservatives can win.

1. Continue to fight against Obamacare.

“The reason the Obamacare issue has such potency is because it’s real. Millions of people are hurt by this, and there is not a trip that I take back to Texas where I don’t run into at least one person, if not several, who say, ‘I lost my health insurance.’”

“…Harry Reid and the Democratic leadership is grossly negligent for not stepping up and fixing the misery that they’re inflicting.”

2. Stop pushing for immigration while Harry Reid controls the Senate.

“If the House went down the road of passing a massive amnesty program, that could screw up the election. I think the odds of Harry Reid remaining the majority leader would jump tenfold, which is why Harry Reid and the White House are begging Republicans please go into the briar patch. … I’m hopeful we won’t see such self-destructive behavior from the House.”

3. Fight for principle, and take risks.

“There are a number of folks in Washington who think the way you win elections is you put your head down, you don’t rock the boat, you don’t take risk. … I think that is empirically false.”

4. Let the American people pick their leaders.

“That pre-condition of the American people getting mobilized, getting engaged, and holding Washington accountable, that’s the only way to turn the country around.”

“Washington insiders have a terrible record at picking winners and losers.”

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Any of those four ways or all of them? I would think it should be the latter, if not many more.

Yes Indeed.

I was conversing with an elderly lady who had been a liberal for years, but is starting to see the error of her ways and believe in the conservative cause.

She did, however, express dislike for Ted Cruz.

After a few moments of reasonable and respectful conversation with me, she finally admitted that Ted is the ONLY person in DC who risks ridicule and marginalization to stand firm for what he believes in.

While it was good news for Ted, it is a very sad commentary on the state of our nation.

Standard kinds of stuff, but #4 is a bit misdirected. America does pick it’s leaders, but the problem is America keeps voting for who they are told their leaders should be. That is not so much a problem of Party Leadership as it is low information voters on both sides of the aisle.

We need to educate Conservatives, Republicans first. Get them to vote while informed. Until we do that, the rest is just spitting into the wind.

We may be an informed group here, but we are a minority within a minority.

The TV viewing public learn from their shiny pink eyed prompter readers to dislike people who will rock the boat on the sow breast nation, people like Palin and Cruz.

Follow the directions exactly, kids. We don’t like Palin or Cruz and if you do, we will try to bully you. Stand up to bullies, but not us. Ok?

You must be in Colorado where smoking mj is legal.

I'd love to see your fantasy become reality, but we'd have to have 67 in the senate, 330 in the house, and the white hut with a President like Cruz...just for starters.

The only way conservatives can win is if the American electorate pulls its collective head out of its *ss, which doesn’t seem quite likely somehow.

UNLESS; republicans start talking about voter fraud they might WIN (( But )) lose anyway...

Example; How could a known democrat compromiser(appeaser) WIN the republican primary’s(Romney) AND voters completely reject ALL actual conservative candidates?..
you know.................. right after the 2010 elections?..

Many maybe MOST districts voting is corrupt..
Democrat voter suppression(FRAUD) has become an ART..
Republican optimists are completely delusional..

It appears in most places ONLY “the right” republicans CAN or WILL be elected..... i.e. allowed by democrat operatives.. AND republican elites..

Excellent! That makes ten. And not one of them includes reading parodied Dr. Seuss stories to kids.

The Establishment will hate this advice. I’m sure Rove is currently preparing a detailed explanation (with whiteboard) of why we can never do this.
