DRUDGE READERS SURPRISE GOP ELITE FOR PREZ

Become latest to defy D.C. establishment in sizzling new poll

Drew Zahn

When it comes to picking a presidential candidate for 2016, the GOP elite is having a hard time getting the grassroots to toe the establishment line.

Top Republican strategist Karl Rove, for example, has repeatedly praised Chris Christie, the Republican governor of New Jersey, as “a strong potential candidate in 2016,” whom Democrats fear will win the nomination.

And when other names gained popular attention, particularly attention among the so-called tea-party crowd, the man known as the “architect” was quick to criticize.

Rove, for example, blasted potential presidential hopeful Ted Cruz for not playing ball with the GOP establishment, just as the Texas senator’s name started to gain traction with Republican voters.

Rove similarly opened fire on Sen. Rand Paul, R-Tenn., for talking about Monica Lewinsky and potential Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the same breath.

And even if Christie has fallen from favor among the establishment, other GOP insiders have floated names like former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and even the return of former presidential candidate and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as possible nominees in 2016.

But now a poll on one of the Internet’s top websites, the Drudge Report, reveals the ground troops just aren’t buying it.

With over 234,000 votes counted, Rove’s “strong potential candidate,” Christie, was garnering less than five percent of the vote. Bush had just over six percent. Ryan had less than four.

But despite fiery criticism from the GOP establishment, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was registering over 28 percent in the Drudge Report poll, while Tennessee Sen. Rand Paul was leading the survey, with over 30 percent. Paul’s 72,297 votes compared impressively to Christie’s 11,437.

What is to watch. I am a rock hard conservative who will no longer vote for idiots that rove puts out.

Cruz would get my vote all day long. Same with Sara. Not Christie every or Bush for that matter. Rand maybe but not 100% on him.

Hope you enjoyed that. Keep watching nothing to see here.

Oh and I have had people like you tell me you are watching before you like them are all talk and no go.

I learned one lesson. People accepting RINOs moved the GOP hard left. Thats apparent when you see todays GOP accepting all the Romeny liberalism he displayed as Gov. If you insist on continuing to do that, you are what is wrong with the conservative right. Not just you, but any who would continue to INTENTIONALLY put rinos in power.

Simple math. Subsidize RINO liberalism and get more of it. We proved that for 30 years. Your choice.

Exactly. We destroyed the Dems in 2010 and what did we get rinos who went even more left. Now we have every federal agency targeting the conservatives and the GOPE letting it happen.

Nearly the same GOP we had known now as the GOPE ran the house senate and presidency early in Bush's presidency and still could not get the border closed. If I have to skip elections to get these fools out so be it.

What else do you call a guy that opposes a fence, wants a croniezd superhighway straight into the heartland for illegals and demands parental rights be nullified over unproven, unneeded and dangerous vaccines?

I’d call anyone that wanted that evil or stupid.

I have found it interesting that rather than address any of those issues, the Rino fans dimply hurl accusations.

I had one moron posting pics of Yosemite Sam on a dragon, saying ‘That’s you’ and thinking it was intelligent rebuttal.

He’s been quiet lately. Can’t say I miss him. But overall, it’s all they have. We are on an arrow straight course to more liberalism by electing liberals. Should be self evident to anyone with the ability to use logic. So that leaves shills and plants. One does not simply walk into Mordor, nor does one listen to someone when they advocate more RINOs to spread liberalism.

I voted for Sarah, but Cruz and even Paul would be OK.

There should have been Hell No! buttons for Chris Christie, Paul Ryan and Jeb Bush.

I suspect you are right, Paul carries a lot of his dad’s libertarian votes.

Paul and Cruz are in a statistical tie and are far ahead of any establishment pick.

Drudge gets a lot of views inside the Beltway. Hopefully this poll sends a strong message that Cruz-Paul carry nearly 60% of the poll.

I didn’t just talk, I spent a fortune on 3 cycles, and campaigned on the stump for Palin in an effort to convince her to run.. I was involved in the Contract With America, with Newt, and Paul Weyrich in the 90’s..

http://www.dkosopedia.com/wiki/National_Empowerment_Television

I do understand, but I can not allow a Clinton anywhere near the White House, again.. I will vote for whomever gets our nod this time..

You can do whatever you wish, but I’m not too old to learn yet..
