CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A bill to prohibit abortions later than 20 weeks after conception has passed the West Virginia House and will be sent to the governor to sign into law.

On Saturday, the House passed the bill 85-15 with two delegates not voting. House Speaker Tim Miley denied requests to talk about the bill. The Democrat from Harrison said lawmakers had too many bills to get through.

West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin says he's concerned that a bill to prohibit abortions after 20 weeks could be unconstitutional.

Correct. 85 - 15 this means that the left must use the courts to once again thwart the will of the people.

I have to wonder though, how long does it take to decide if you want to kill your baby? It seems that 3 months should be sufficient!

It doesn't surprise me that West Virginia Governor Democrat Earl Ray Tomblin doesn't understand (or blatantly ignores) that the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect the so-called right to have an abortion, activist justices wrongly legislating such a “right” from the bench in Roe v. Wade imo.

The citizens of West Virginia, and all states, need to work with their state lawmakers to make laws to do the following. The states need laws which require all state lawmakers, governors and judges to reference specific clauses in the Constitution to justify their assertions, written or oral, that a given issue is or isn't constitutional.

This is because, all too often imo, Constitution-ignoring government “leaders” take advantage of the fact that low-information voters, voters who have never been taught the Constitution as the Founding States had intended for it to be understood, give the vague PC terms "constitutional" and "unconstitutional" a free pass.

West Virginia is moving the right direction. Obama lost all of the counties of WV in a little more than a generation there wont be any state wide Democrats left. Some say a judge will overturn but we already know that judges are no longer representing the constitution so its beyond time that the states start ejecting federal judges from their borders.

A fetus is completely formed by the end of the third month (12 weeks).

From that point on, abortion is sheer MURDER.

Prayers up. Please, God, lead us to a repeal of Roe v. Wade.

Yep. Abortion is going to be overturned. Washington has to be dismantled almost completely. The time of the super rich and the leftist telling us all how to live needs to end. They got their money from us.

The original Roe v Wade decision in the mid 1970's essentially ruled that abortions were legal up to the time of viability. Back then the court determined that to be two tri-mesters, or around 26 weeks. They never said late term abortions were constitutional. Now, as long as vibility can be demonstrated to occur at 20 weeks, there is no inconsistency with Roe v Wade.

This particular bill had to do with babies who “feel pain” and the cutoff time for that was agreed at 20 weeks (although most of us know it should go back to conception). Anyway it seems to be a “step” in the right direction. Our Republican delegates and Senators had to fight for this one. It tied on one vote and was thrown out. It was a Democrat who rescued it from the dead file and sent it to Senate Judiciary Committee. There was more to it than that, but that’s the Reader’s Digest version.

This is what the real war on women is about. Demonrats don't realize that God knew the baby in the womans womb even before the conception even began and how sad it must be for God to see cold blooded murderers murdering His creations. It is their funeral to Hell.

It’s sheer murder no matter at WHAT point.

There is no difference in the composition, or humanity of what you “remove” from the womb, whether it’s a minute after conception or at the moment before birth. It’s just a BIGGER version — changed only by time and nutrition. Everything that is needed to form that baby is there ...everything that is human, is THERE, at CONCEPTION. No sort of genetic material is added along the way.

The problem is, we have set these arbitrary cut off points in our minds to justify taking it earlier. It’s STILL a life ...the same life ...just smaller. It’s still murder, at any point in the continuum.
