The White House appeared to double down on its policy of engagement with Iran following Wednesday's dramatic pre-dawn high seas capture of an Iranian missile cache destined for Hamas by Israeli naval commandos.
Senior administration officials worked quickly to prevent the raid from undermining public confidence in President Obama's continued belief that Iran is a trustworthy and reliable negotiating partner, even going so far as to claim credit for the raid themselves.
Several dozen advanced medium range missiles were found hidden under false bottoms of phony shipping containers on board the Panamanian flagged "Klos-C" frigate seized in a dramatic pre dawn raid about 1,000 miles south of the Israeli port of Eilat.
White House spokesman Jay Carney said the Israeli weapons interdiction was actually the result of high level intelligence sharing between the US and Israel. State Department spokesman Jen Psaki went even further, claiming it was the US Navy, which she said first identified the frigate, which was planning to interdict the ship itself, but that Israel, "ultimately chose to take the lead."
Psaki claimed the White House ordered the Pentagon to closely track the ship in order to prepare "unilateral steps if necessary." US actions, she claimed, demonstrate just how seriously the US regards Iranian attempts to empower terrorist groups seeking to "destabilize" the Middle East.
Israeli forces intercepted the "Klos-C" near Port Sudan early Wednesday morning. According to IDF Lt. Col Peter Lerner, the Gaza-bound missile shipment originated in Damascus. Lerner said the advanced Syrian made M-302 missiles were flown from Damascus to Teheran, where they were transported by truck to the Persian Gulf port of Bandar Abbas. Then they were loaded onto the Klos-C, which docked at an Iraqi port to create a "smoke-screen".

More likely the "US" leading Israel on that it might act, the frigate getting near the point at which Israel would have to make a go/no-go decision, a no-go based on promises of the US acting, and then after passing that point, the US decline to act, thus the "US" getting the weapons "safely" to its target destination.
Nothing to be alarmed about, the weapons were purely for "domestic" use.

In the end either Netanyahu is doing nothing to stop Obama’s dealings with Iran and will allow them to go nuclear without using military force on his own or Israel has been going all out with covert actions and plans open actions if that fails.
If the first scenario is true then Bibi will say that Israel has worked with the United States on coordinating satellite detection of any missile launches from Iran and worked with the United States on developing an anti-missile shield so Israel is secure from Iran’s nukes.
There is the other option that Israel is covertly working to slow down Iran and slow down Obama who is not only pushing a deal with Iran but a deal with the Palestinians.
Israel has certainly used covert means to slow down the Iranian nuclear program with Kurdish hit squads to kill nuclear scientists, computer virus sabotage and so on.
I wonder if Israel stirred up the street demonstrations against the Iranian government back in 2009????
If Israel is pursuing all out anti-Iran, anti-Obama covert operations for the sake of its survival I wonder what they have done or are doing to throw roadblocks in the way of Iran and Obama.
Things like the Arab Spring, the Syrian Civil War and the crisis over Ukraine have all tied down Obama and the foreign policy apparatus of the United States and the EU delaying them in their quests to negotiate with Iran and force Israel into making major concessions to the Palestinians.
In the Syrian Civil War the Saudis and Al-Quaeda have tied down Iran’s allies Assad and Hezbollah plus taxed the resources of Iran in sustaining Assad’s regime.

The more I see, I used to think, Obama would follow Chavez’s course by ignoring their Constitution, then finally declaring himself President for life and disbanding Congress (which Obama has practically done). I used to think nearing the 2016 election Obama would cause the collapse, declare martial law and take over.
Now, I’m starting to think, with the pushbacks on Obamacare to 2017, the collapse will be held off til 2017, then blamed completely on the next President who will probably be a Republican.

Obama doesn’t give a hoot about the Iranian weapons shipment. He just wants an agreement with Iran, period. Israel can go fly a kite, as far as he is concerned.
