The only difference is, the unemployment money runs out a lot sooner than SS and my investment.
Even if a factory job opened up right next door and paid $15 an hour ... I don't know if I COULD get back into the race.
Again, I'm older and no one expects me to go back to work (least of all me), but a younger guy that's been off for a year or more ?

I’m retired now for two years also. Took SS early and pull from my 401K when needed. Also am “Retired But Working” at my old job for fill-in needs, limited to 49% time though.
Thankfully, most of the fill-in work assigned to me allows me to complete it at home sot that’s a big, big plus after having driven over 120 miles a day R/T when working full time.
That said, if I were offered the opportunity to come back full-time, I’d have to decline it.
