Five Things Obama Could Do to be the Greatest President Ever, but Won’t
Townhall.com ^ | March 11, 2014 | John Ransom

The saddest thing about a guy like Obama, as opposed to say, Bill Clinton, is that if you went forward in time and showed him all his mistakes, showed him an alternate vision-- one that's successful for the country-- he is such an ideologue that he would reject the advice out of hand.

But still that doesn’t mean that I won’t share the five things Obama could do to turn the country and the economy around.

Some of these are things anyone could do. OK, anyone but Obama:

Peace, Alas Babylon,

1. Do not believe a politician's words, no matter how nice they sound. Look at their voting record. That is real. Words are just noise. Doctor King said a man should be judged on the content of their character. That means what they do, not just say.

Ok, what about people running for office who have never held office and have no voting record? How would you vet them?

3. Don't vote for a party just because your parents did. Party politics change over the time. If so, shouldn't you?

Would you vote for a Democrat if that person was a strict-constructionist?

1. That’s a tough one. Study previous papers, writings, postings, bloggings, any community involvement? Military service? I think that would be a start.

2. Yes with caveats. EXCEPT I would want a promise from them NOT to caucus with the democrats in congress. A democrat, however constitutional, that caucuses with the party potentially puts Nancy in the speaker’s chair and a bunch of flaming liberals in the committee chairs. Will not work. Would vote against for that reason otherwise.

It’s time for a bipartisan effort...

And it all falls apart right there. Even if Obama was open to bipartisan effort - and God knows he isn't - the Republicans aren't. Any Republican who tried would be crucified in the primaries. The divide is too deep and the willingness to put country ahead of party doesn't exist.

Oh, I know how tough it is. Since all politicians lie (YMMV), even when you speak the truth and people want to agree with you and support you, they don't trust you. FWIW, I am not a politician. This is not My job. This is a vocation. Feel free to review My other posts here to see that I've been consistant for nearly twenty years. Yes, I did serve, twice.

I've already stated publically that I would not support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker. She had her moment and we all saw how well that went.
