For the first time millions of formerly apathetic voters have an undeniable grievance and a motivation to pay back the people who wrecked their budgets and health insurance coverage. With Obama’s approval ratings deep underwater and sinking, the RNC is thinking about going in for the kill. (via Doug Ross)
Republican National Committee data operatives will build a list of the millions of Americans who have lost insurance policies due to Obamacare in order to help their candidates win over these voters at the ballot box in 2014 and 2016.
“Getting that information [on plan cancellations] and having good data as to who votes, who doesn’t vote, voter registration, party affiliation, consumer characteristics, cross-referenced with that kind of information, I think, is important for us to have,” Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus told the Washington Examiner after his CPAC panel presentation Saturday morning.
Priebus said the RNC’s data goals won’t be hindered by the leftward lean of many tech staffers. “We have not had a difficult time finding data scientists and software engineers,” he said. “We’ve brought in some of the top engineers from LinkedIn, Yahoo, and Facebook that are working on these data projects that we have at the party.”
That’s good, but engineers are only part of the puzzle, competent implementation is also about the direction. That’s why gov data projects go so wrong and why Healthcare.gov went so far off the rails.
Hopefully the RNC will have its game together for 2014. Republicans do tend to catch up on things like social media, the problem is that the gap until they do is exploitable and seriously damaging.
Good data would make it possible to microtarget people who have very specific elements of dissatisfaction with the administration. The Dems are already doing this. The constant pledge and petitions email cycles are about seeing which issues move which people and homing in on them.
The RNC ought to spend less time thinking about Facebook and Yahoo and more time thinking about Amazon and Target.
Ted Cruz needs to use his floor time to read the whole damned list, while glaring at Harry Reid.
I don’t believe it, we know they are all Liars. I heard it on the Floor of the United States Senate, it must be true.
The GOPe is not interested in helping us out.
Every chance they had to oppose Obamacare, they laid down and played dead.
“Hopefully the RNC will have its game together for 2014.”
Why approach the ACA debacle from THIS angle?
There is wall-to-wall, indisputable and rigorously documented evidence that the ACA never met ANY legal and necessary protocols for lawmaking as are traditionally observed, required and practiced in the history of the United Stated of America.
We have a piece of legislation that NO ONE read before passing and which is so fraudulently represented, unworkable and ill-conceived that not EVEN its supporters can honestly comprehend its definitive and final (if any) configuration!!!
Americans and the US economy (never mind our social stability) will be held hostage to the continuous evolution of the ACA into infinity! It will become the incessant and absolute means with which all politicians may blackmail and rob taxpayers with perfect license!!
If nothing else is considered, this alone must qualify the ACA for immediate and permanent repeal!!
Well said.
I call them Doormat RINOs or RINO Cowards.
RINO Coward Boehner is as guilty as Soetoro-Obama because he refuses to use his good offices to enforce the US Constitution and Impeach Soetoro-Obama.
RINO Coward Boehner is the perfect example of why the RINO Wing is the most destructive force to the formerly great Republican Party.
The sooner that we rid the Republican Party of RINO Cowards such as Boehner, Cantor, Ryan, McConnell, Cornyn, McCain and now Thune, the better our chances will be to restore Constitutional Law in the current Communal US Federal Government.
BTW, RINO Coward Boehner, our OUTRAGE is simple: the summer of 2014 is the time to Impeach Obama, or for you to resign as Speaker of the House.
RE: Ted Cruz needs to use his floor time to read the whole damned list
How much time do you need to read millions of names?
Boehner is busy drafting his cave in as we speak.
He’s always looking for an out to cave.
And, like the rest of the ‘You conservatives are losers’ GOPe idiots, he doesn’t understand what all the anger is about.
“I dont believe it, we know they are all Liars”
I don’t know if you mean the Republican national party is lying about making that list. I think it has been enough years that I can tell about the list the national party already has and they can use that list to help them find out who lost insurance. They are not starting from scratch. They have had a list since 2005 to disseminate to county chairs and candidates across the country.
I was the one who worked with this list in our county. It was called, “Voter Vault” and I had the website address and a password and my county list would come up. Voter information was there as to their voter history from primaries in the past to identify them as Republicans or not, and the usual voter address and phone numbers, age, etc. I made mailing lists by family as I could copy that file and put it on my computer and arrange the information however I wanted it. I did that with other county lists, too, as I worked with candidates from other counties and for district candidates like district judges.
Don’t sell the national party short, as they already have data with which to start.
Cruz needs to stop this in it’s tracks. It’s an invasion of privacy. If I gave them written permission to add my name to another of hundreds of thousands of lists, then that’s one thing but to go snooping into my business to add my name to this or any other list is nothing but NSA/Big Brother invasion of my privacy, again.
You off your meds...again?
