As I understand it in the military right now, they are trying to “de-stigmatize” those who are trying to get help for themselves in dealing with PTSD or other stress/mental issues. It appears to be a sincere effort to get veterans the help they need. Yet one can easily imagine these vets getting added to a list of potential “crazy people” just for asking for help, then subsequently deprived of their rights forever. In fact, we have seen some libs like Feinstein, Boxer, and Pelosi attempt to categorize ALL veterans as insane, “whether or not they have admitted their mental problems from stress.”

As a Lawyer friend said to me, being declared mentally ill like that gives those who win a fire fight with gov officials the insanity defense....

This is how they plan to take away rights. Define trivial things as “mental illness” and confiscate your guns. Get a valium, talk about anything, and they run to the SS.

See Sluggish Schizophrenia.

And I just finished 1984. Like reading today’s events. Notice I did not say today’s “NEWS”.

Josef Stalin made extensive use of bogus mental health ‘issues’ to persecute those who opposed him. It stands to reason that democrats would want to follow in their hero’s footsteps.

They’ll just say that adherence to the founding documents and especially the 2nd amendment is a mental condition and be done with it .

Either that, or they’ll declare any who does that to be terrorist.

And in other news the push to include gun ownership information in mandated federal health care records continues. Sure the NRA brags about how there is an amendment that says Obamacare can not be used to collect firearms information. Yeah, we can trust the feds.

Reminds me of a story I read years ago, about some politician giving a soapbox speech to a crowd in England.

After each of the politician’s roposals, a heckler would shout “That’s good, but how do we know you’re not crazy?”

After several repeats of this question by the heckler, the speaker asked the heckler how anyone can prove they are not crazy.

Whereupon the heckler stepped forward and pulled from his pocket his signed release from a mental institution.

On a lesser scale, it reminds me of story some years ago where a heckler yelled out “Tell everything you know Will, it won’t take long.”

Will shot back, “I’ll tell ‘em what we both know. It won’t take any longer.”

As a Veteran, I will never, ever, ever tell my doctor or nurse that I feel anything less that good. Ever, for any reason. Doesn’t matter if I don’t, I will never say anything differnt for fear of them coming to my house and stealing my property and stripping me and my family’s right to protect ourselves.

I’ve heard you should never, ever talk to the police; now add never, ever talk to any mental health professional.

There were over 40 million people in the U S treated for depression in 2012. In addition, there were well over 250 million prescriptions written for a host of psychiatric medications in 2011. There was over 200 million prescriptions written just for anxiety and depression. Psychiatric prescriptions written for 2011 I wonder how many of these people own firearms, and I also wonder how many of them are LEO's? Good luck to the morons who write these stupid laws when they try to sort out confiscations from 100 million people (or more).

There were nearly 50 million prescriptions written for Xanax alone in 2011. Hell, nearly the entire U S population is taking some sort of pyschiatric medication.

The more this government turns Maoist, the more they need to deploy a “Red Guard,”

Private firearms make that a losing proposition, hence the drive against private firearms.

You can’t beat and mock a man in the town square if he’s armed.....

Statistics for Indiana show that 3.9% of the state's population suffer from depression (and are presumably receiving treatment) State by state depression by percentage of population I don't know what the population of Indiana is but one could figure just how many people are depressed. So how many own firearms? And how many are LEO's? These laws are not passed with any significant thought as to how to enforce them.
