Republican David Jolly won the special election to fill the House seat left vacant by the death of his former boss, Rep. C.W. Bill Young (R-Fla.).

With nearly all of the votes counted Tuesday night, Jolly had 48.5 percent of the vote to Alex Sink’s 46.7 percent. Libertarian Lucas Overby had 4.8 percent.

Sink lost the 2010 governor’s race to Rick Scott. The Democratic Party sunk extensive ad funding into the congressional battle, and DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) tried to paint the loss as a positive.

Sink ran for Governor against Scott so she had name recognition while Jolly never held office. Obama carried this district in 2008 and 2012, as did Sink when she ran for Governor. As DNC Chairman wanted this more than jar of Hellmans. That’s why they were overspending on a special election that will be run again in about 8 months.

Winning by losing - or leading from behind - the Obama way.

Stuart Rothenberg, editor of the nonpartisan Rothenberg Political Report, had pegged the special election as a must-win for Democrats.

Makes it all the sweeter.

Wasserman-Schultz has her head so far up her ass that she has to part her hair to break wind.

“You’re darn right that our candidates are going to run on the advantage that Obamacare will be going into the 2014 election,’’ proclaimed Debbie Wasserman Schultz late last year.

But what now, Debbie? The Democrats can’t have a Plan B because they think they’re always right.

Since she goes out in public thinking her hair looks good, we really don’t need to hear her thoughts on anything past that.

How people this delusional are still walking around free is a bit of a mystery to me.

Don’t we have institutions, other than political, where we can commit them too?

Funny to see Dems try to spin this in their favor when all day all they have been doing is gloating thinking they had this election in the bag. Yes, it is a leaning Republican District but its also an area that Obama won TWICE and if Dems were SO convinced that this loss is “No big deal” how come they spent so much money(Overspending Jolly overwhelmingly in this race) if they thought they didnt have a chance to win anyway

If she’s happy about this outcome then we should do whatever we can to make her ecstatic!

Um.... Taking it from who? What if more than half those votes were disgruntled Dems?

Come on folks, we’ve been going over those numbers for decades now. The LP isn’t stealing conservative votes in larger numbers than they are stealing from the liberals.

" Republicans fell short of their normal margin in this district because the agenda they are offering voters has a singular focus – that a majority of voters oppose – repealing the Affordable Care Act that would return us to the same old broken health care system,” Wasserman Schultz said in a DNC rapid response statement."

So, is this silly b!tch say that Dims are going to run on Obamacare?

We can only hope.
