McConnell is finished, wave good bye to the nice man
Examiner ^ | March 11, 2014 | AARON BLAKE

Mitch McConnell, the current minority leader in the Senate and GOP counterpart to Majority Leader Dingy Harry Reid, and senior senator from Kentucky, must be the stupidest politician in Washington D.C. right now. Facing a challenge in his own primary from TEA party oriented candidate Matt Bevin for being a RINO, McConnell would be wise to do anything but provoke an escalation of the political battle between RINOs like him and the more conservative TEA party supported candidates challenging them. McConnell the other day made a comment basically saying that all the RINOs like him that are being challenged in primaries by conservatives will defeat their more conservative challengers. What a stupid commment.

I suspect many conservatives around the country had made the defeat of RINO Lindsey Graham in South Carolina the highest priority for 2014. But I can imagine tens of thousands of TEA party and conservative activists reacting to McConnell's stupidity by writing checks to the campaign committee for Matt Bevin after having what the soon-to-be-retired senator from Kentucky said the other day.

Polls are showing that McConnell is in trouble against the expected Democrat nominee Alison Lundergran Grimes, and he's slipping in the polls for his primary battle against Matt Bevin. Either way, McConnell is finished, in the primary or in November. He's voted the RINO left-of-center line in Washington D.C. way too many times, and voters who elect Republicans are expecting them to go to Washington and represent our insterests and not those of the special interests and the ruling class of Washington D.C.

McConnell hasn't done that in his too many years in Washington, and now it's time for him retire or be retired. The voters in Kentucky will make sure it happens one way or the other.

Either Bevin will take him out (hopefully!) or Grimes will. One or the other; take your pick.

I like the enthusiasm and confidence, but Bevin is still in the 20s. The polling mirror the Stockman/Cornyn debacle and there is no runoff in Kentucky. Were’ going to need a late surge to win this. Lets hope Bevin works his butt off and conservatives become too disgusted with McConnell to turn out for him.

I want Mitch gone so badly I’m afraid it won’t happen. I pray for Matt Bevins to win.

The fact that Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham are not only getting more than 5% of the vote in a Republican Primary in Southern States, but are likely to win shows how screwed this country is.

Seriously, who out there says to themselves, “Wow, I think Mitch McConnell is doing such a wonderful job, I am going to make sure I take time out of my day to go vote for him”?

Who is voting for these jokers?????

McConnell would rather his seat go to an Obama MarxoFascist stooge than to a Conservative.

His attack ads against Bevin will NEVER rise to those ugly levels against Grimes in the General. It will be kid gloves against her, after he stabbed, shot, burned and buried Bevin with one outrageous attack ad full of crap after the other.

I live in KY. I am a very strong “classical liberal” (commonly referred to as “conservative” today).

If McConnel wins the primary, I’ll vote for the democrat.

I’m not too sure of that. McConnell took enough of a blowtorch to Ashley Judd last year that it scared her out of running.

I’d be willing to bet that a LOT of McConnell’s support comes from people who don’t like him, but think that the KY seat could be the deciding factor in retaking the Senate next year and don’t have confidence in the more ideologically acceptable Bevins to be able to take on Grimes and the KY Dem machine (which is pretty powerful).

McConnel should just run against Grimes in the Democrat primary.

Unite behind one or the other or the vote will be split and turkey-neck turtleman will retain his cushy lifestyle.

I really can’t understand why we’re not supporting Mitch. We need to take the Senate. This is insane to support a candidate who is getting 20% of the vote backing.

Let’s smartin up here.

I’m sure I’ll get some wrath here, but that’s my opinion.

I understand your sentiments, but that mindset is what gave us dim majorities in 06 and 08.

If he were a true Republican I’d understand your sentiment but you forget what a RINO is and does. They’re spies for the Democrats and follow their orders.
