9 shot, 3 dead in 12 hours in Philly
Posted: Wednesday, March 12, 2014, 11:56 AM
Philadelphia experienced a brutal 12-hour period from yesterday afternoon to today's early-morning hours in which nine people were shot - three of whom were killed - bringing the city's murder tally to 52 this year.
Last week, I wrote this piece on how we've already had more murders in Philadelphia this year than in all of New York City, which has 6.8 million more people. At this rate, I don't even want summer to come because it always means more dead bodies, more broken hearts and more families asking "Why?" when there is no reason. It's all so damn senseless.
Here's a chronological breakdown, in reverse order, of the senseless violence that occurred between 3:54 p.m. yesterday and 3:06 a.m. this morning, according to police.
-3:06 a.m. Wednesday: A man tried to enter the Marmeliz Bar on Wyoming Avenue near C Street in Feltonville and was denied entry by a bar employee. The two fought and the man fired three shots at the employee before fleeing on foot. The 29-year-old employee was struck twice in the back and is listed in critical condition at Temple University Hospital. A 26-year-old man who was leaving the bar at the time was also struck once in the left leg by the gunfire. He's listed in stable condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
-11:50 p.m. Tuesday: A 20-year-old man is shot in his right leg....

And the media ignores the black-on-black violence because there’s no race angle to exploit and bash whites with.
It’s not just the bell that’s cracked.
.333 AVG. They’re getting better.
Philly is giving Chicago a run for it’s money
Chicago better watch out or Philly will out gun them.
Can’t even risk going to Geno’s anymore when I go up there.
The looters love to do some cappin’ when the mercury rises.
I guess if American citizens didn’t have the right to own guns this would never have happened. (Sarcasm)
Philadelphia is a $hithole.
And a big part of the problem is “Little Philly” a/k/a Camden. They have tried so hard to revitalize the water front down there, but I’m afraid to even drive through there in the daylight.
One trip, during the day with my son’s Scout Troop to the USS New Jersey, we got detoured and ended up in a place you can only imagine and you’d be right. I actually ran a red light to get out of the neighborhood and back onto the interstate.
A TOTAL dump.....
Warm weather brings the thugs out into the streets.
I didn’t see any race listed. In fact, the Adrian could be anything really. I thought the guys that wanted to get into the bar could have been anything really.
Let me guess, a Democrat run city with strict gun control laws. Just wait to it really starts to warm up.
bringing the city’s murder tally to 52 this year.

NYC has had fewer than 52 murders this year?
At this rate, I don’t even want summer to come because it always means more dead bodies, more broken hearts and more families asking “Why?” when there is no reason. It’s all so damn senseless.
Well one reason is because stopping it is racist.
Huh. That is the usual average for military combat gunshot wounds. One dead for every 3 wounded. I guess Philly really is a combat zone.
So of course the city fathers will step up efforts to take guns from honest, non-violent individuals and deliberately leave them in the hands of violent criminals.
Where any of the perps white and victims black? No? Then no one cares ...
THAT is exactly why they ignore it. (Sorry, your post's sentiment just needed to be repeated)
So is this a good or bad day in philly
And Pennsylvania has decent concealed carry laws, unlike New Yawk.
Very surprised Holders people haven’t torn a few cities up the last few summers.
Rediculous high unemployment numbers may make this a very hot summer indeedy doodie.
C’mon, Chicago - you gonna let Philly outscore you?
Holder’s People don’t care about the unemployment; it’s been 100% in their families for generations.
What Holder’s people care about is welfare.
Another episode of that popular reality show, “N-words Gone Wild”?
Holders people are unaffected by unemployment, they are generations deep in being provided for by the working class.
The city of "brothers are thugs" is at the opposite side of the state from me.We'd give it to NJ if I had any say.
Does Philadelphia have any say over issuing permits, or is it all handled by the state?
Philadelphia is not in Pennsylvania, just ask them.
Oh, except for when it comes to check day. Then, yeah, sure, they’re in Pennsylvania. They suck up double their share of state revenue.
Under state law it is the only place that open carry is actually banned.
NO, it's not so damn senseless you blithering fool. The Allegheny County police admitted 2 months ago that over 80% of homicides in Allegheny county were drug related.
Why should I give a good goddamn if a couple of thugs kill each other over drugs?
The truth about shootings and what caused them needs to get out there. Simpering jackass reporters that decry "GUN VIOLENCE" need to have their noses rubbed in the truth. I'm tired of hearing that my guns need to be taken away because two gangsters shoot each other over a bad drug deal, drug debt, or drug territory.
Nope. You're wrong. No gun control laws. Shall issue state. Fill out the application that you can download from the county sheriffs web site, pay $20.00 and you have your permit. Walk into any gun store, pass the NICS check and take whatever your heart desires home with you. No restrictions.
Didn’t know that. Another reason never to go.
In that case they need some strict gun control laws like Chicago to prevent these senseless crimes from happening again. /s
i wonder how many more killings would occur if Philly had Chicago’s gun laws.
Forgot PA believed in freedom. Here is CT it is a eeeevil NRA approved safety course, and four separate certified checks for $150 to get a temporary permit, which lets you get the actual permit needed to carry, for another $70.
