Obie is fishing for a cause to draw attention away from CommieCare,
He wants to create a false issue that democrats can ride to victory in the next election as they did the phony “War On Women” in 2012.
I worked for years as a salaried proposal coordinator for a major defense contractor. All our proposals required extensive overtime. We sometimes worked all night on a weekend and into Sunday morning. And we got paid overtime every time. Not time-and-one-half but straight time and a premium. The company paid it because it had to to keep the salaried employees in our department.
There goes lower management raises.
Dictator.
He can shove his orders. This is NOT his purview, and that Congress and the media are sitting around mutely like cigar store Indians as he tramples all over constitutional order is unbelievable.
Any time I see something like this coming from comrade obama I have to remind myself that however beneficial it may at first appear on the surface for the average employee, he’s only doing it because it means increased tax revenue for the Fed. Somebody has to pay for all those IRS salaries and executive office vacations.
Interesting that a black “reporter” fired from Politico who was “forced” to work in retail, writes a column about people not being paid overtime then Obama uses his executive authority to do something about it. Whatever he can do.
tell obama to wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which one fills up first.

Operation
The puppeteer, often dubbed as the "Muppet performer"or "Muppeteer", holds the Muppet above his head or in front of his body, with one hand operating the head and mouth and the other manipulating the hands and arms, either with two separate control rods or by "wearing" the hands like gloves. One consequence of this design is that most Muppets are left-handed as the puppeteer uses his right hand to operate the head while operating the arm rod with his left hand. There are many other common designs and means of operation. In advanced Muppets, several Muppeteers may control a single character; the performer who controls the mouth usually provides the voice for the character. As technology has evolved, the Jim Henson team and other puppeteers have developed an enormous variety of means to operate Muppets for film and television, including the use of suspended rigs, [TELEPROMPTERS], internal motors, remote radio control, and computer enhanced and superimposed images.
So, do you tell the Muppet to shut up, or do you tell the Muppeteer to shut up? A fascinating question...
How can any President simply declare a wage increase for millions of workers?
Good God, this country reminds me more and more of Argentina or Bolivia every day.
Buying more votes.
Desperation is setting in.
Yikes, I just read in the newspaper this morning that it was 960ish a week and under. Anybody making under 500 a week and in a supervisory position better be making sure they aren’t exempt - if they don’t, it’s their own fault for negotiating horrible conditions for that low of a salary and to also be exempt from overtime..
I do the best I can with my malfunctioned brain after I died and came back to life. No more republicrap or demonrat party for me. I'm going with the teaparty conservatives and hope and pray they will throw the tea in the harbor.
More tax dollars funneled thru venal unions to the Rats...
Are these the same federal workers he put on furlough?
Confiscation of Retirement Accounts
So, what happens if youre not willing to invest in Obamas MyRa? How does the government get the funding it needs to continue financing and growing the debt? The answer: FORCE you to make your retirement funds accessible to the government.
If you do some research on US Bill HB5337, you will find the plan to nationalize retirement wealth. On May 6, 2012 Lauren Schmitz, a research analyst at the Bernard L Schwartz Center for Economic Analyst (SCEPA), introduced HB5337. This 401(k)/IRA de-privatization is the brainchild of Teresa Ghilarducci, whom through funding from the White House and the Ford & Rockefeller Foundations engineered a new Regulatory & Tax Incentive. The purpose is to force Americans to convert their Retirement Accounts into Government Managed accounts.
The government will nationalize retirement accounts like IRAs, 401Ks, pensions, 403Bs, etc. so that you will be forced to use a portion of your retirement wealth to purchase U.S. government debt debt that will ultimately default, as it is not possible to sustain our astronomical debt nor the deficits that create it.
This plan to nationalize private 401K and IRA retirement accounts is being deceptively publicized as the government protecting the public against business failings or state bankruptcies. But the reality is, your cash, your retirement funds, your bank deposits and your investments are at huge risk of being confiscated by the government through some contrived reason or another.
Sooner or later, he'll be after us day-rate folks...
Currently management can avoid paying you overtime if your duties are executive (i.e. supervisory) and if you make more than $455 per week.
How much this impacts employers will certainly depend on what benchmark they raise the bar too...
I would guess a vast majority of “exempt” worker already make more than $455 a week...that’s $23,600 annually...not much for a supervisor type position...
If they are making $23,600 a year, then they are being abused by being exempt...if they are made to work more than 40 hours...without comp time...
$455.00 a week for 40 hours is $11.38 an hour...add on any more hours and they are dipping down to the mid $8.00 a hour...
When I had “exempt” employees, they all make between 35K and 38K a year...that was almost 8 years ago...
My guess this is more about paying off some of his union thugs...their contracts are probably benchmarked against what a “exempt” supervisor non-union employees makes...
I think it may be a first for me, but I actually agree with Obama on this...if the new benchmark isn’t a ridiculous amount...
Of course I don’t agree on his methods, but his premise I think is correct...
