US workers accused fast-food giant McDonald's Thursday of systematically stealing wages through illicit practices like forcing them to work off-the-clock and failing to pay overtime. Seven class-action lawsuits were filed Wednesday and Thursday in California, Michigan and New York demanding that McDonald's pay back the stolen wages and end the practices that violate state and federal laws, lawyers representing the workers said.

One way to stop Mcy D from "stealing" wages, and that's to GET ANOTHER JOB SOMEWHERE ELSE, MORON!.
Good for them!
You work, you get paid for it.
If they worked off the clock with no compensation, that’s theft by the company.
Not paying overtime and forcing workers to work “off the clock” are illegal.
The time these folks spend wallowing in perceived grievances and cooking up get-rich-quick schemes would be better spent at a second job.

Hey, blaming the victim for an injustice isn’t right.
I can rail against the dems and the system, but stiffing a worker who’s doing the job is WRONG and it needs to be redressed.
I don’t think McDonald’s corp. signs their paychecks.
I’ll bet the plaintiffs will have a hard time providing PROOF
Sorry, this smacks of an Acorn/Organizing for America operation. Really, three cities across the span of the USA? If they are bring overworked, I hope they can prove it.
And this flurry of lawsuits had absolutely NOTHING to do with Oberdork’s revamping the overtime rules................yesterday........
Perhaps they won’t. My kids kept logs of their hours worked and they were quick to note unpaid time.
This isn’t something rare in the fast food industry.
I do recall a time in my youth.
Working at a delivery company.
After day 2, I was asked to do substantially more than I signed up for. I was hired as a driver.
I welcomed the new challenges and responsibilities and I performed well beyond his expectations.
After two weeks I told the owner that I need a raise.
He came back to me with a raise, $0.25 an hour more.
I was insulted.
While I was busting my butt, doing anything and everything that needed to get done, he was going to walk out of his office once an hour and and throw a quarter at me.
In the end, I got paid what I was worth and we had a great relationship.
Nice lib logic. Don’t like the direction of the county? Go ahead and move you lazy slob.

Absolutely. Clearly the prime takeaway from this story is the workers at McDonalds, who pretty much deserve to have their rightful pay illegally withheld because they are morons.
Correct. I received a check one time for overtime that wasn’t paid correctly.
It probably wasn’t McDonalds but some rogue managers. McDonalds just has the deep pockets.
Not quite. I'm not sure whom you're painting as the "lazy slob." There are many companies that have employees to extra work. If it's not customary to do so, then go to the upper management and complain.
But to lawyer-up is a coward's way out. Besides, I don't think that all McDonald's do this. They're being painted with a broad brush.
And as I implied, if you're unhappy there, go somewhere else where you won't be mistreated. Putting a lawsuit on your resume and future references is rather pathetic.
So that makes it OK for their employer to force them to work off the clock and deny them overtime?
