Former NJ Governor Corzine Son Dead in Apparent Suicide

The son of former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine killed himself in a Mexico City hotel this week.

Jeffrey Corzine, 31, was the youngest of Corzine’s three children with ex-wife and childhood sweetheart Joanne Corzine.

The exact cause of death was not released, but sources told The Post Jeffrey suffered from depression.

Steven Goldberg, a spokesman for the devastated Jon Corzine, confirmed in a statement: “The sad fact is that Jeffrey Corzine had been suffering from severe depression for several years and recently had been receiving treatment for what is a very painful and debilitating physical and mental ailment.”

Seeing Corzine's name in the news re-ignited the sense of outrage I had towards him for having so egregiously violated all sorts of regulations when using clients' funds in an effort to double-down on a trade that went horribly wrong that he made as Chairman of MF Global Inc.a financial services firm specializing in futures brokerage. That he was never charged on a multitude of felony violations really angered me on why he was entitled to the "privileged cronyism" that had him walk away seemingly unscathed while clients lost everything in his double-down death deal.

But within this article I had fortuitously learned that not to be the case, something otherwise not reported by the corrupt, contemptible left-wing, liberal news organ that has you yearning for the days of "Pravda" as the most reliable source of news.

The death of his youngest son is the latest in a series of challenges for the elder Corzine, who was ousted from Goldman Sachs in 1999 and is now being sued by regulators over the 2011 collapse of MF Global Holdings Ltd., the commodities broker he headed after leaving public office.

re: don’t wish that on anyone

Me either. The reality is that we can not control our adult children. We can try to help them, but that is it.

Saying a prayer now for the Corzine family, and I hope the rest of us Freepers are doing that as well.

No parent should have to bury their child. Prayers for the Corzine Family.

I hope Corzine goes to jail for life for his thievery of MF Global funds. Losing a child doesn't mean he should be relieved of punishment for his crimes.

That said, even if he doesn't, there will be very little joy in his life based on the death of his son.

I don’t believe it was suicide for one second.

It’s a message to Daddy to play ball, by someone who doesn’t intend to lose. Hmmm, where could you possibly find someone so nasty in the Garden State of New Jersey?

Even the rich and famous have their moments of agony in this life.

Their advantage is that any material losses can easily be replaced and that pain can be softened (not eliminated) by the proper use of their money.

Money does not buy happiness but it is a hell of a convenience to possess. It is better to be rich and unhappy than to be poor and unhappy, I guess.

If my father decided he was gay I would probably have had problems coping, too. It doesn’t surprise me that the son committed suicide.

Wrong disgraced former Democratic governor of New Jersey - there's so many it gets confusing.

Condolences to the Corzine family. Even if dad belongs in jail, the suicide of a child is so tragic.

LOL, there’s a bit more to daddy’s history than homosexuality. To call that particular issue the game changer panders pretty obviously to the audience.

Jon Corzine isn’t gay. He’s a monstrous, pro-abortion swindler.

“Jon Corzine isn’t gay. He’s a monstrous, pro-abortion swindler.”

Allow me to add that this leftist pig destroyed the lives of thousands of families with MF Global. How many of those families suffered a suicide because of Corzine’s treachery?

If just a few more people were single-issue pro-life voters, we would be rid of most of the treasonous, Satan-worshiping psychopaths in goverment. We could deal easily with the remaining petty crooks among the “pro-life” politicians.
