WSJ: Terrorists Could Darken U.S. Power Grid; Nets Ignore, Cover Late Princess Diana Instead

"The U.S. could suffer a coast-to-coast blackout if saboteurs knocked out just nine of the country's 55,000 electric-transmission substations on a scorching summer day, according to a previously unreported federal analysis," the Wall Street Journal's Rebecca Smith reported on the front page of Thursday's paper. A set of "coordinated attacks in each of the nations' three separate electric systems could cause the entire power network to collapse," Smith noted, citing "people familiar with the [Federal Energy Regulatory Commission] research."

They probably knew already, it’s not new information.

Did they pinpoint the 9 stations for the terrorists? Swell.

They already knew this.

The questions that need to be asked are: what's being done to protect the grid; what's being done to enable the grid to be repaired quickly; and, where has your neighbour hidden his TEOTWAWKI emergency supplies?

By their actions, it sure looks like the New World Order wants to kill off about 80% of us, anyway - so a grid failure may not be an unwelcome event to them.

A 2013 attack on an electric substation near San Jose that nearly knocked out Silicon Valley's power supply was initially downplayed as vandalism by Pacific Gas & Electric Co., the facility's owner. Gunfire from semiautomatic weapons did extensive damage to 17 transformers that sent grid operators scrambling to avoid a blackout.

Do you really think some dumb@ss reporter has better info on our power grid than the governments that hate us?

Nothing and nothing.

Indeed, my guess is the customers in this country are likely the last to know such things.

This has been known for a long time. The purpose of the article is to get the utility companies to harden their networks. They are resisting doing that.

Face it, unless the whole system is put underground it can’t be protected.

Exactly what system or building or transportation method can’t be sabotaged? NOTHING is 100% secure from attack.

Well, a loss of power would certainly dim our light bulbs, and Diana was a dim bulb, so maybe it makes sense.
