U.S. officials lean toward 'those in the cockpit' behind missing flight

Washington (CNN) -- U.S. intelligence officials are leaning toward the theory that "those in the cockpit" -- the pilots of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 -- were deliberately responsible for the mysterious disappearance of the commercial jetliner, a U.S. official with direct knowledge of the latest thinking told CNN on Saturday.

The revelation followed news that Malaysian authorities searched the home of the lead pilot, a move that came the same day that Prime Minister Najib Razak told reporters the plane veered off course due to apparent deliberate action taken by somebody on board.

The Malaysian government had been looking for a reason to search the home of the pilot and the co-pilot for several days. But it was only in the last 24 to 36 hours when radar and satellite data came to light that authorities believed they had sufficient reason to go through the residences, according to the U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

"The Malaysians don't do this lightly," the official said. It's not clear whether the Malaysian government believes one or both the men could have been responsible for whatever happened to the plane when the Boeing 777-200 ER disappeared March 8 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

The official emphasized no final conclusions have been drawn and all the internal intelligence discussions are based on preliminary assessments of what is known to date. Other scenarios could still emerge. A source close to the investigation told CNN that Malaysian police had search the home of pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah, 53. Shah lives in an upscale gated community in Shah Alam, outside Malaysia's capital of Kuala Lumpur.

Two vans were loaded with small bags, similar to shopping bags, at the home of the co-pilot, 27-year-old Farq Ab Hamid.

Because the northern parts of the traffic corridor include some tightly guarded airspace over India, Pakistan, and even some U.S. installations in Afghanistan, U.S. authorities believe it more likely the aircraft crashed into waters outside of the reach of radar south of India, one U.S. official told CNN. If it had flown farther north, it's likely it would have been detected by radar........................Perhaps it was shot down by a missile by the US.

And since as it turns out the pilot was (Is?) ‘gay’, those hotties might have been transvestites, or terrorists dressed as transvestites, who overcame the pilots and hijacked the plane to, where else, San Francisco!

Why take the plane when it’s full of people? Because otherwise you can’t get one that is fueled up?

If you’re committing suicide and want family or friends to collect insurance, then doing it as a plane crash on your regular route is a better bet that it won’t be suspected as suicide. And making sure the plane goes down in really deep water like the Indian Ocean where it may not be found for a long time, if ever, helps the plan.

TMZ can do something useful. Find out where Malaysian Air flight attendants go to drink. Interview them off the record about what they know about that twenty six year old co pilot.Good bet she was hitting on some flight attendant who told him to get lost. Young men when they are angry and humiliated do impulsive things.

It was a well planned take over executed perfectly by a well trained team. They choose a night flight so everyone would be asleep. They had studies and practiced months to archive their goals. But unknown to them other powers were at play. Very powerful powers and soon the would land there prize to discover they landed their prize in the twilight zone.

Or the morons landed the plane on the wrong island and the runway is to short to take off.

I am betting on this as the reason for the hijack

Probably Iran.

New electronic weapons (EW) allow jamming, blinding, deafening and more, so that a plane could possibly vanish from radar detection and security systems would not be activated. Basic radar Electronic Counter-Measure (ECM) strategies used in electronic warfare (EW) are: 1) radar interference, 2) target modifications, and 3) changing electrical properties of air.

Anyway, the Uighur is still in Turkey and apparently was never on the plane..

The Malaysian gubermint is dragging their feet on the search and investigation because they really don’t want to find the plane and the 237 dead bodies, at which time they would immediately be liable for the insurance (237 million dollars). If they don’t find them it may take 7 years to declare them legally dead. Delay is denial. Besides, most of the insurance payouts will go to the CHINESE Communist Government.

I think we need to have an ongoing brainstorm thread where everyone can bring to the table links and discussion.

John Nance was on KOMO today and said the plane was taken to 45,000 which most likely killed all the passengers...so sad.

than either 1) the cabin was depressurized to knock out the passengers and flight attendants or 2) the flight attendants were in on it...

i can’t imagine any flight attendant not figuring out something was wrong after the plane banked 270-degrees then sat in the air a while...

I agree Marmema. It is a sad situation and I agree that this would be best being brainstormed. If one comes to be (a thread), would you ping me, please. May not be able to help but will try to.

The pilot hd a wife and kids. The young guy, who invited teen girls into the cockpit, apparently not yet.
