Thanks. Didn’t the US Army have something like that in a 30-06? I could have sworn I saw one but I’ve been looking online and can’t seem to find anything. Just curious. I thought that the 30-06 machine gun was standard at one time. I could be wrong.

Yes, sort of.
Forget what it was called.
M1941 Johnson lmg for a bit.
WWI saw the m1909 Benet-Mercie.

Later on we had the m60, followed by the m240b, both in 7.62mm.
I preferred the 60.
