REALLY? Was this necessary? The father and kids spent six hours confined in a police car while the crack swat team searched the house for the "criminal".

I know a lot about Student Loan program and there are some really draconian provisions to collect unpaid student loans. I don't know of any provisions that raise the unpaid loan to a criminal case.

You really need to go and read the entire article to get the full impact of this raid--including the fact that the person who owed the unpaid loan didn't live at that address according to the father.

So there are well over a million unpaid student loans. Why go all Elliot Ness over this one?

“Setting an example.”

I’m not going to read the article as I don’t need convincing the government has become boundless in power and stupidity. But I’m guessing this guy didn’t own a dog, or the headline would have included, “and shot his dog.” I’m convinced the rash of dog shootings are intended as pure intimidation. Abusive parents frequently kill their kid’s pets to intimidate them. That’s what government has become, an abusive parental figure.

Individual agencies given permission to harrass the tax paying public, sounds like the liberty tree needs some watering, no?

To those idiot college age students who love Obama and Obamacare this is what you have to look forward to. Because of your support Obamacare nationalized the student loan industry. Don’t get dizzy spinning how that was essential for reforming health insurance.

So now we know why they need all those bullets. Pay up or die. Seems I remember that the law stated that you could not be imprisoned for your debts, but then when has Obama ever obeyed the law?

the student loan industry was private, and has recently been taken over by the government. The dept of education loans money, sets tuition rates, hires instructors and collects from students. It also manages curriculum and, as well, degree requirements.

the same people decide who gets into school. These people tell our high schoolers what they need to do to get into school If kids are not Hispanic or black, they have to be working for four years, either as volunteers or for a wage. It has to be consistent over 4 years, or at least two or three.

THe kids are treated like adults by teachers, parents and employers, and especially teachers, who load them with busy work, saying, well they have to get used to it.

No basis for that teaching theory, of course. No basis for any of this.

Parents buy into all of this. No one is at home. No one is allowing these kids a moment of alone time. Time to do nothing but think and contemplate anything, like, for instance, what they want to do.

There is no formation, zero time for God. They have no romance, just hookup. No culture, there is no culture, no good books, movies, history lessons. there is nothing just give to this education system as if the kids owe everybody.

Parents are so stupid. They are buyinginto this system.

THis story is not an example of what I’m talking about, but whoever lent this woman this kind of money should be held responsible, but it’s the government. THey exist, as do colleges, now, to take from kids. Giving them an education is not a priority. NOt for the schools.

No one is taking care of the kids.

We are taking from them and they are not going to have anything. Not a country, not money to take care of us in our old age -government pension money will come from them, as does any government money - it comes from taxation, the workers.

I wish people would pay attention to this.

the government has taken over the college loan industry.

Well at least there was no report of a dog being shot, maybe thats why the father received such harsh treatment because the swat team was pissed that they could not shoot their dog as they did not have one.
