Republicans are holding their statewide convention in the Bay Area this weekend, and they are facing a few challenges, including a well-known incumbent for governor and a battle with the Tea Party. NBC Bay Areas Monte Francis is in Burlingame with the latest.
“California Republicans Hold Statewide Convention in a Phone Booth”
I didn’t think there was any longer a Republican Party in California. I thought they were all illegal aliens voting for d’Rats.
A brief message to the Republicans...
“Stay out of bathroom stalls.”
We’re still here. Can you hear me now?!..Said the Man on the Moon. My hope is enough DIMS will get sick of extending The Legend of Governor Jerry Brown and his Smart Choo Choo Train, that he’ll be voted/ flushed out like an inert toxin.
...and both showed up!
Amazing how quickly the state changed.
1994 +2% mov
2012 +25% mov
2004 Kerry 54%
2012 Baraq 61%
margin of victory in per cent
“...a battle with the Tea Party”
Fundraisers better not come around my house trying to sell me stupid.
love, love, love Burlingame... downtown is quite pleasant... love Stacks for breakfast... very good pancakes :)
But, somehow, she just kept on winning... Must've had some big bucks behind her.
And if readers are supposed to know that, why so imprecise on the location?
Were they expecting protestors, or party crashers, or were they too embarassed about the whole thing?
They announced that they want to “rebuild the party” and that they need to stop “pandering”.
Illegals. And dead voters, of course.
California republican carries much the same meaning as northeastern republican. Democrat light, looking on the TEA movement as an enemy.
The people who are leaving California, individuals and businesses alike, are those who would very likely support a true republican in the Reagan or Goldwater mold. With a severely depleted base, california republicans will find themselves facing the prospect of campaigning among democrats, acknowledging the “changing demographics of voting,” and just giving up to become blatant, instead of closeted, liberals. It’s becoming apparent that what’s left of the states GOP will just end up becoming mired in “outreach,” growing the “big tent,” and shadowing the liberalism of democrats, just as they’ve done in the last several presidential elections.
BURLINGAME - Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim Donnelly said Saturday that the California Republican Party needs to “reconnect with the church,” rallying conservative activists in his primary contest with Neel Kashkari.
Neel Kashkari, a former U.S. Treasury Department official, is preferred by many members of the party’s donor and professional class for his more moderate social views.
Here's a fun quote from Wiki:
Her 347-page financial-disclosure statement characterized by the San Francisco Chronicle as "nearly the size of a phone book"
Did both of them get together over drinks?
