The White House is backing off its push for quick confirmation of President Barack Obama's pick to be surgeon general in the face of opposition from the National Rifle Association and concerns among Democrats up for re-election who don't want to take another tough vote on a controversial nominee.

The midterms are looming and they don't want to vote on someone that's afraid of cartoons and the violence they cause. I say we order up another truckload of ACME anvils and safes right away.

Recess appointments after election?
To: rktman
After losing his Civil Rights nominee, Barry can scarcely afford to take another one up the shorts.

Good. The issue of guns is not a medical problem and should not be bundled and confused with health or family issues, nor should doctors be burdened with spying on citizens.

Just the fact he put up a 36 year-old radical, highly partisan Marxist with virtually no professional leadership experience speaks volumes about this president. It’s all about ideology.

I once read something interesting about Wile Coyote.
If he was so hungry that he had to chase after the road runner, maybe he should have spent less at the Acme novelty company and more at Piggly Wiggly.

Yeah...he did seem to have on hell of a line of credit with Acme. I’m sure the Piggly Wiggly would have taken Acme as a reference to extend 30 days net to the old boy.

Funny how the focus is on the Republican (and even some Democrats) response to these appointments AND NOT THE FACT IT IS BARRY WHO IS APPOINTING THEM!!!!
Kind of like the NSA overreach and IRS scandal.. Barry "doesn't know anything" about it.
To: rktman
For now which means he’ll wait till Senate goes into recess.

if guns in the hands of citizens are a medical problem, every armed govt agent is a medical problem.
