Boeing Source: Missing Plane in Pakistan
Lignet ^ | March 17, 2014, 5:30 p.m. |

The Malaysian government reportedly is investigating the possibility that missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 avoided radar detection and landed in Pakistan near the Afghanistan border inside Taliban-controlled territory, according to the UK Independent . . . investigators confiscated a homemade flight simulator from the pilot’s home to see if it reveals any useful information . . . the Malaysian foreign minister told reporters that Malaysia asked several Asian countries for assistance in its investigation, including Pakistan . . . Pakistan dismissed the idea that a Boeing 777 could land undetected inside the country but promised to work with the Malaysian government in its search for the missing plane . . . a LIGNET analyst received information from a source at Boeing that the company believes the plane did land in Pakistan . . . Israel is taking the possibility of a terrorist attack seriously by mobilizing air defenses and scrutinizing approaching civilian aircraft, according to the Times of Israel . . . a Boeing 777 requires a lengthy, 7,500-foot runway, and Pakistan has many of them, meaning Flight 370 could conceivably be hidden in a hangar inside the country . . . U.S. surveillance of the area may be able to shed light on the theory through satellite imagery or signals intelligence.

I would not be surprised if one or more other aircraft are stolen in the future after all the furor dies down and everyone goes back to normal.

My money is on a plunge into deep water—end of story. I hope I am wrong.

Actually, I hope you are right...as bad as that sounds...

Any other alternative is far too frightening to even contemplate...

I have no explanation for a southern route.

Just debating your comment that, if it crashed in the Indian Ocean, it would be easily found. I disagree.

>> “Landing isn’t the problem. Taking off again; that’s the issue.” <<

.
Depends on how much fuel it has to carry to get to its destination.

It is known to be able to take off with less than 4000 feet of runway.

And stripped of all unnecessary weight (seats, original cargo & passengers, etc.) also would help.

So you are arguing from a point without any evidence nor any possible motive. Do you realize how ridiculous you make yourself look?

“They went South because I say it. And because I say it that’s probably the truth!”

Oy vey! Give me a break.

From what I’ve heard from pilot friends, it needs less room to land, but the rollout takes more.

I wonder if you stripped the inside, if it could take off on a shorter runway.

The pilot would hope to bring down the current government that he hates.

The Pakis are capable of building a runway for when they want to use it, but they’re one of the countries that could have government support to land it at a major airport.

Sullivan had a 777 pilot call in to his program today.

He claimed to have gotten to rotation in 3500 feet.

That’s the whole problem with the crash into the ocean thing....Lack of debris field, even a single seat floatation devise, which are all serial numbered have not been found. Nothing....

Makes me think it possibly landed on the ground....Initially I did not think this would be the case...I am leaning that way now.

There is absolutely no reason to fly for seven additional hours to crash into water if you could do that minutes after taking off at Kuala Lumpur.

Flying to the remotest part of the region possible before going in is called preventing closure.
