Mother agrees to $725,000 settlement in Saginaw police shooting

SAGINAW, MI — The mother of Milton Hall, a homeless Saginaw man shot and killed by Saginaw police officers in 2012, has settled her federal wrongful death lawsuit against the city and nine police officers, her attorneys say.

Jewel Hall on Friday, March 14, settled her case in U.S. District Court in Bay City, according to a press release sent from Hall's Detroit attorneys.

Hall settled the case for $725,000, according to her Saginaw attorney, Debra Freid.

Hall's "primary motivation was to make sure that this never happens to another family," Freid told The Saginaw News.

The dollar amount is a "symbol of (Milton Hall's) value," Freid said.

"The amount was never the central issue for Jewel," Freid said. "The fact that it's a very substantial amount is important to her because (it means) the city of Saginaw recognizes that Milton Hall, her son, was a person of value notwithstanding his illness."

Beef, I didn’t see any beef; whole lot of PORK and a smattering of chicken-shit perhaps, but certainly no beef.

It does quite properly come from the taxpayer though.

And, if the taxpayers remain the idiots they were to vote in an administration that had low enough standards that this was possible then they need to lose exponentially more if there is another incident.

Sometimes, you have to understand (even if you don’t like it) the consequences run back up and body slam the top of the authority structure.

In America, that top is the voter.
We get what we deserve.

Thank you.

I have written that a few times here on FR when people post about these law suits being paid for by the tax payers. I do agree the individual cops need to have a financial burden placed on themselves to ensure they get punished for their actions. Maybe have the government write the check and then take a percentage out of their paychecks for the rest of their lives.

Even a belt fed, full auto, ballistic knife shouldn’t have justified 40+ rounds. I don’t think we can count on a majority of LEOs to be our friends in a possible Country wide insurrection
